Fine Korean Koryo Dynasty Bronze Bowl, Spoon & Chopsticks
This fine, high quality bronze bowl and utensils were made during the Koryo Dynasty (AD 918 - 1392) but more specifically during the 13th century. The wall of the bowl is particularly thin as it was made by the spinning technique as opposed to having been cast (see below for more information). The foot of the bowl has been made separately and is joined by two rivets...

The character “Hiraku” Open (or to Open) in bold scratchy strokes by the infamous nun Murase Myodo. Open you mind, open the path to enlightenment, the path is open to all, but like this calligraphy work is not easy, it is dry and thorny and the gate must be passed. Ink on paper in a silk border with wood rollers. It is 24-1/2 x 48-1/2 inches (62 x 123.5 cm) and is in excellent condition...
"Acorn" pattern sterling silver cake slice server by Carl Poul Petersen, Canada. Circa 1947. Size: 9 7/8 inches length. Excellent condition with hammered blade and figural peapod handle. Stamped on reverse of handle HAND MADE STERLING, together with Petersen's logo.

An impressive, Mingei carved wood kiseruzutsu (a pipe case or holder worn similarly as a sashi netsuke) with snake and frog decoration - quite appropriate for the 'year of the snake' and a tiny compass with inlaid into one corner. Depicted are a snake coiled around a weathered log apparently in ready ambush for a frog perched on the other end - both with pierced bone or stag antler inlaid eyes...
A rarely seen image of Vaishnavi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and also one of the eight Matrikas. Excellent casting, nice wear and patina due to Puja worship. H. 14 cm (5,5 inch), W. 10 cm (4 inch). Provenance: private collection Belgium.

Japanese Limited edition etching with aquatint of a traditional Japanese farmhouse covered in snow titled “Tamba” by Brian Williams (b. 1950). The print is pencil-signed, titled, numbered 170/180, and dated ‘93 along the bottom margin. Paper size: 10 1/4"V x 14"H (image about 5”V x 8 ¼”H). Excellent condition. There are two pieces of archival tape at the top edge verso. Born in Peru, Brian Williams has been living and working in Japan since 1972...

Very Rare & Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish (Ex. Lammers Collection)
This large and impressive porcelain dish was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is elaborately decorated in underglaze blue of good colour. Although it has some features of what many people refer to as "kraak" ware, it would be more correct to call this "Zhangzhou" or "Swatow" ware...

A rare and exceptional 14k gold and carved lapis scarab ring signed Macefield. William Mason and Leonard Field were a collaborative effort of artist/jewelers from Winchester, MA. ( the North Shore ) who were most active in the late 40's and 50's. This ring is a size 5 1/4 and measures 7/8" long and 3/4" wide. The prong set carved lapis scarab sits high in a scalloped setting with a twisted edge. The ring is in fine original condition. Magnificent craftsmanship and design.

Large Thai bronze Buddha head with serene face and downcast almond eyes, curled headdress, flaming usnisa, and elongated ears. The casting is thin, the patina is very nice, and there is typical corrosion and wear evident. Traces of gilt are visible in the usnisa and hair (see close up images). Produced in the 18th/19th century in the Sukhothai period style. 15" high. Weighs about 9 lbs. There is no stand. This bronze is from the Albert Ninde estate in Tucson...
