Massive Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty (12th/13th century) Henan dark brown/black glazed horizontally ribbed ovoid form stoneware jar with high, wide shoulders narrowing at the base. The thick glaze drips down toward the flat, unglazed base. The rich black/brown glaze, referred to as “temmoku” by the Japanese, is highlighted by a russet colored cylindrical neck and rim. Measures about 13” high x 13 1/2” diameter. Very good overall condition with typical surface scratches to the glaze.

Gerardo Lopez dragon cuff is constructed with an overlay for dimension. The background is niello and it looks as if it were hardly worn. There is some glare with the photos but no damage. I date this around 1948 to 1950 as it does carry an eagle but it also carries the earlier hallmark using the 980 mark. The cuff is 2 inches tall, a 1 1/8th in. gap and a 2.25in. diameter. A large dish with slightly out-turned rim decorated in underglaze blue with Lin Bu ( Lin Hejing) Rinnasei the famous Northern Song poet, scholar and recluse feeding a Crane, perhaps He Gao, set against a Pine Tree within a garden fence. It was said of him that the Plum blossom was his wife and his son, the Crane.
Unusually, he is portrayed with a rather out-sized large oval face, with an anachronistic Qing style Manchu cap, and robe decorated with stylised Plum blossom, rather than the more us...
Antique 19th century American game table probably NY c. 1850 solid walnut. Top opens to expose game table and playing surface. In all original antique condition some minor reinforcment dowels to leg. A beautiful example. Measuring 14" L x 29" W x 30" H.
