Ash glaze splatters seemingly haphazard across this superbly crafted tea bowl by Kishimoto Kennin enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Chawan. The glaze has pummeled the side and run in just enough to create a large green pool in the center, thick green running in a stream to connect it to the rim. About the base clings charred ash deposits, and one side is severely blasted, opposite raw shiseki-pocked clay. Truly a magnificent work
