This large antique black doll has embroidered face with beads for her eyes and mouth, I have never seen this before on a black doll. Her nose I think is would and covered with embroidery floss. This is a doll with a water colorpainted face on very fine linen. This is her second face and if you look at her arms that are really worn she has had a full and busy life. This antique straw stuffed doll had an embroidered nose, just traces left, ink painted eyes and eyebrows and stitched and painted mouth, both a mere shadow of itself. Her body is all original and as I tried taking off her clothes they had been on and not disrupted for a long time I decided not to pull them all off. This sweet little black doll has the look of a 24" doll. She is old, her clothes are early, soft and hang nicely. Her leather shoes are original and it is always a mystery of how they get so worn. Naïve but nicely painted face doll with great red curls around her face. She is 21" tall and her body has a very broad chest that narrows into a smaller waist and hardly any flare to her hips. She is jointed at the shoulders and at the hips. She is very firmly packed with cotton. She has reinforced stitches at her neck below her chin and then stitches at the back of her neck also. This 13" needle sculpture painted black doll is so much nicer than most. Someone spent a lot of time hand sewing and painting her features. This big folk art oil cloth doll has a lot going for her. She has heavy brush stroke painted face done by some no nonsense mother. Antique firmly stuffed country rag doll with a pencil face. She has pointy little arms and feet pointing to the left (going to make a left turn) and attached legs so she sits nicely. She has on a blouse, pantaloons, petticoat with lace trim, black socks that are sewn on and a wonderful flannel skirt with red trim. She is 14" tall and circa 1880-1890.

Lovely old cloth doll stuffed with rags, really solid and heavy in possibly an original dress. She is completely jointed, nicely constructed, old petticoat and pantaloons. She has dainty pointed feet, stitched defined thumb and fingers and the back of her head is covered with brown fabric that also looks original.
