This 18.5 inch tall Norah Wellings black doll named "DuDu" was made from 1927 to the mid 1930s in Wellington, Shopshire, England. Made of velveteen DuDU has a great character face with the much desired glass eyes and a wide brown mohair wig. The doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. The fingers and toes are individually delineated with stitching. Doll is called 'DuDu' model 119.
This early pencil face doll is what I call plain and simple. It is the type or doll I would see for sale in the 1970-80's. Somehow the fancier antique cloth dolls didn't appear until the 1990's and later. She has a simple drawn pencil face, no hair, a mitten hand with just the thumb separate and the little turned up foot. She sits easily and fits in with anything on a shelf or with a collection...
This very early little doll is made with wool batten, (sed as filler in homemade quilts). Probably a scrap left over and in the rag bag. Her body, arms and legs are batten, and her head is sewn linen over a ball of wool batten. Her eyes are tiny beads held on with thread and her nose is raised and stitch defined. Her mouth is 3 stitches with a hint of pink color. She is wearing a real homespun linen dress, red, white and light brown plaid, not fancy but hand sewn...

Very early black cloth doll with embroidered face, raised nose, wool fabric for hair, and dressed in original blue calico roller print pants, an early brown wool vest, (so great even though it has some damage), and the collar around his neck that is all that is left from his dress shirt. His arms maybe an early replacement. He is 14" tall and C. 1870.
His face is mottled color but no damage to the fabric, maybe the early dyed fabric reacted to sun over the years.
This is a really pretty black 1990 Summit Barbie Doll, mint, unused condition in the original box, made by Mattel. This Barbie Doll has black hair and a beautiful white and gold dress. The box is in very good condition with no damage. This doll is from my personal collection. She has been in a closet in a smoke free home since new. We guarantee items to be as described. THANK YOU.
Here are two very nice paper doll dresses made with crepe paper and Dresden paper lace trim from the 1840's The 7" dress is exquisite with watercolor hand painted floral decoration. This dress has a partial unbleached paper backing that is all original. It has a slightly irregular hemline and a dark spot just above the hemline.
The smaller dress is 3 1/2" and has Dresden stars across the bodice. It has a paper back that is two fold to go over the paper dolls head...

This is a 23 " cloth doll that looks more like she is 17". It is funny with dolls, some look really big and large and aren't and then some like this one that just feel and look smaller than they are. She is nicely shaped body, she is shy and doesn't like to show her face. I finally got one picture that shows the pencil features, you can see her face much better in real life...
This very nice painted face cloth doll has a lovely minimally painted face with dark eyes and a soft red nicely shaped lips. Her body is hard packed with a broad chest reflecting the period. She has long graceful arms that flare out from the elbow down, a touch I don't see very often. Her body is all original one arm has some weakness but not serious. She is dressed in antique clothes, the dress has some stains and one hole in the back under arm...
This little bottle doll has a dear sweet up turned face that radiates sunshine. She is as found with an outfit that looks like she acquired it as life went on, piece by piece; very endearing. She is on her original sand weighted bottle. She is 12" tall and is circa early 1900's.
This doll has a very soft worn kind of look. Her face is mended right down the middle and the is darkening just below her shoe button eyes but she still has a very nice sort of sad soft look. I realized I had her dress on backward when I started to photograph her. She has a really nice pocket that she has been sitting on all these years. She is 24" tall. Old, worn, hand sewn, holey, patched, replaced arm, and simply wonderful package. She is heavy rag stuffed, has an old curvy body and is wearing a very early handsewn dress that is sewn on.
