A great example of the 1920's craftsmanship and style is found in this wonderful equestrian bar pin. The 14Kt yellow gold pin is 2" long and 5/8" wide in the center. The 14K mark is on the safety clasp.
This pretty pin is in the style of Murrle, Bennett and Archibald Knox. The design is that of a heart interlaced with a navette-shaped frame (this interlace-type motif is also called “entrelac”). It is centered by an oval turquoise, and has a safety chain – always useful! Unsigned, and marked 9ct. It measures 1-1/2 x 3/4", and weighs 2.6g. This striking stick pin was made in the shape of an arrow head. It features a sparkly cognac-colored diamond of approximately 10 points (a tenth of a carat), but it looks bigger. Above and below the diamond are 2 lovely (cultured?) champagne-colored pearls...
This 10Kt yellow gold bar pin from the 1910-s is centered by a hexagonal faceted 6 millimeter pink tourmaline. The delicately designed open work bar pin has a safety catch; it is 2” long and 7/16” wide.
This sweet pendant features a large amethyst, measuring approximately 10mm across. It is set in a framework of bright gold leaves, which is very much in the Arts and Crafts style. There is another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangling below – so pretty! From the top of the bale to the bottom of the fringe it measures 1-1/2”, and from side to side it is ¾” at the widest point. It is marked and tested as14k gold, and it weighs 1.8g...
Beautiful Arts & Crafts eternity ring from the Art Nouveau period. This ring was made by hand with exquisitely detailed openwork of leaves carved in yellow gold, 15 small rubies, three diamonds set in white gold diamond shapes. Ring width is 9 mm, weight is 5.1 grams, excellent condition. Ring size is 6.5, cannot be resized without interrupting the pattern.
A elegant brooch worked in 18K yellow gold filigree centering a round brilliant-cut amethyst surrounded by natural seed pearls. The amethyst’s collet is enhanced with millegraining, as is the remainder of the filigree work. The edge is finished with a border of wirework rosettes. The quality of workmanship is superb. This sunburst pin dates back to the very early 1900’s. The 1 3/8” diameter pin is made of 14kt yellow gold and is centered by a 5.5 mm cabochon opal. This yellow gold necklace is centered by a dark red garnet (probably a spessartite). Garnets are the birthstone for January, and were traditionally thought to keep travelers safe. The dangle is set with a blister pearl which has a mellow off-white color. There are 3 tiny seed pearls in the main setting.
