This sterling silver buckle features translucent (plique a jour) enamel in a floral motif. These sash buckles with plique are quite unusual. The enamel is red, green, and two shades of blue. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. There are marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. Measuring 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", it weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It is in very good condition...

This Beautiful belt buckle is made entirely of Mid-Victorian Hand-Carved Whitby Jet. The Brooch is deeply carved with leaves and flower blooms – in great detail.

Today it is illegal to mine jet in Whitby because the only jet left is in seams in the walls of the cliffs over the town. To remove it from the cliffs would cause them to tumble down and destroy the town. The two remaining jet cutters today have to rely on pieces that wash up on the beaches of this seacoast town...

This heavily engraved silver pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution to settle in California. It was one of the jewels she brought with her from her childhood. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually make any noise) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, which we believe is for Moscow (which would make sense, given her history)...

A large sterling silver locket from the Aesthetic Period, the cover decorated with an engraved Japonaiserie scene of a water bird landing among reeds. The bird is surrounded by a fan-shaped reserve. The ends of the locket are nicely enhanced with beading and a fancy border. The interior retains both original frames and glass enclosing either fabric. The back is unadorned. This locket is unmarked, indicating an American origin...

It has wonderfully striped and figured grey and white banded agate fitted stones with silver dividers and it has finely hand engraved and tooled decoration including a buckle, inner edge, decorated outer rim and an engraved pierced silver top. Large Ottoman part belt buckle half, 19th century. Classic Paisley (teardrop) shape. Repoussé and engraved decoration of an eagle surrounded by flowers. These sturdy sterling silver cuff links are boldly molded with vertical lobes on each end of an oblong shape. They are marked sterling on the oblong bridge links, and are nicely finished with rolled edges. They are probably American and probably date around the late 1800s.
