Antique drawing in charcoal on paper of four women who appear to be in surf or sand at water's edge, apparently unsigned, probably European and 19th century. The figures are somewhat heroic, as if survivors. Possibly a preparatory study for a painting, this work's authorship is unknown, but obviously the artist was talented and probably even listed and known. A charming little drawing, exceptionally well-traveled, and with a story to tell: pencil on paper, 6 1/2" by 9 3/4" inside the present mat opening, 12 1/2" by 15 3/8" as framed, not signed, but with inscription "Cesanne Aug. 13/74" at lower right, and "copper buckets" at lower left. And, on the backing, written in a modern hand: "Purchased at Kingston, Jamaica Municipal Art Museum/The date is 1874--purchased previous to 1974. Probably a sketch of town fountain in rural France...

Original pencil figural drawing, 15" by 9" plus a gray mat, unframed, signed at lower right "K. Delaney" and dated there 1979. I do not know who the artist might have been but he or she certainly had a talent as a draftsperson. The condition is generally good save for modest paper browning and there is tape residue on the reverse from clumsy attachment to the mat. Fit a frame on this and you'll have a pleasant, nicely executed drawing.

An Italian Old Master red chalk drawing of a putto, 8 3/4" by 6", 12 3/4" by 11 1/4" nicely framed with inner gold fillet and quality frame from Munn in Los Angeles. The work is unsigned and unattributed. Likely early 18th century. There is some soiling at top left, right center and near the lower portion, two vertical folds and more light folds at upper left, and a small abrasion of paper, seen as white area, near nose area, all as seen in photos.

A well-executed watercolor of a tightly grouped bouquet of flowers. This may be a theorem made with stencils, though this painting looks as if it was done freehand. Theorems were more often stenciled on velvet. The style is of the mid-19th century. It could be either American or English. The frame is a good one of that period. The painting was almost certainly in an oval frame originally and the slight shadow around it is evidence of that frame...
