Ottavio Padovanino, Italian, 1582-1634. This stunning drawing is red chaulk and pencil on paper mounted on paper. It is 15"H by 10.6"W with the name Padovanino handwritten in pencil on the paper below the drawing. Verso is written Alessandro Varotari, Verona, 1588-1648, "Le Padovau...." The condition is good with minor foxing and a darkened edge due to framing. It was in a private collection in Chicago.

Serge Petrovitch Ivanoff was born in Moscow in 1893 and showed artistic ability from a young age. On the family’s move to St. Petersburg, he took the opportunity to further his artistic studies by enrolling at the Imperial Academy of Arts in 1917, at the height of the Russian Revolution...

A pastel of the river Seine in Paris with the top of a building in the distance over leafy trees and a barge passing through the arch of a bridge by the American born Louis Orr who spent much of his life in Paris. This in a nice example of his work in a new mat and frame. Sight size of pastel 12 by 16 inches (30 by 40 cm) frame size 19 3/8 by 23 3/8 inches (49 by 59 cm).

Condition: Excellent with acid free mat and backing.

An unsigned watercolor on heavy textured white drawing paper of corn ricks and pumpkins on a gentle slope with blue sky above and hills in the distance. It is well executed with the focus carried to the rick in the front by the use of details there and looser painting in other parts of the watercolor. The bowl done on the backside of the page also shows the artists quality. The bowl seems to clearly indicate that the work was done in the earlier part of the 20th century...

The size of work: 20" W x 28 3/4". The subject of drawing is Human forms done in Black ink as well as one area in the center with purple color work under black ink or paint, which I could not determine. It is painted on the heavy thick watercolor paper painting board with surface has wavy texture finish. This is sort of one piece from pair work we have presenting other. But I am offering as individual work. This is one of his Original work I have obtained in 1991 as group...

Pastel, chalk, and charcoal on a dark taupe paper, this drawing of a nude woman is strikingly beautiful and sensual. The frame measures 17" x 21" and the sight size of the image is 9" x 11", and it is double matted with a creamy yellow and brighter white mat, with a mahogany colored wood frame. Unsigned, it was attributed to Arthur Bowen Davies by a previous owner who owned several from this era, and one other was signed...

Charcoal on paper portrait of a middle aged bearded man, circa 1880, 20" by 16", currently unframed, signed at lower right with initials "M.J.H.". Thinking this was a work by the major artist Martin Johnson Heade, I sent images to Theodore Stebbins, the Heade expert, who said this was not the work of that artist. So, I offer it here as a decorative work of the nineteenth century...
