From a local estate, the homeowners having spent much time in Southeast Asia, an oil on panel unframed and unsigned painting of a younger man wearing some traditional simple clothing. The piece measures 26 3/4" by 23 3/4" and dates to the late 20th century. I do not see a listing for this name but the artist displays here a skilled impressionist technique. Note the purple, and yellow, blooming trees at right and the fine handling of light and shadow. Oil on canvas, unframed, 15 3/4" by 11 3/4", unsigned, the subject a colorful Indonesian or Chinese traditional dancer in elaborate costume, complete with extra long fingernails and fierce-looking mask. The work was likely executed in the past twenty years or so. A Chinese ad for cigarettes is used as backing paper (a tear in that). This is a most decorative piece that took a long time to create.
