Oil on wood panel still life painting of ceramic vessels, plate, kettle, and candlestick, all arranged on a tabletop, apparently unsigned, but on the reverse of the panel is a "Royal Exhibition" 1930 label, and there is a James Bourlet shipping label as well. The work measures 20" by 24" (27 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed). This beautifully impressionistic work is likely by a listed artist but I am stymied by the lack of a signature...

He was an extremely diverse artist painting genre, figure and portraits, as well as street scenes, rural and coastal views in Britain, France and Algiers. He studied in Birmingham and exhibited a total of 279 works there between 1864-1915, the latter being posthumously exhibited...

A beautifully executed oil on canvas painting by George Harland, a noted British artist. The scene depicts a man returning in a rowboat at dusk. It combines elements of luminism and impressionism, and was done when both of those styles were in fashion. Harland was a highly thought of painter and was exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1907.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no impainting or restoration...

Oil on canvas laid in recent times on wood panel, 19 3/4" by 15 3/4", unframed, the subject three Roman women watching from an exposed cliffside residence as they search the sea below for the ships of loved ones returning home. This is after an 1895 work by well-known, important, English Victorian artist LAWRENCE ALMA-TADEMA (1836-1912), titled "A Coign of Vantage". This is not painted as finely as the original, to be sure, but the artist was moderately skilled. There is stable craquelure...

There is a high likelihood that the artist who created this attractive painting was from mountainous Wales in the British Isles, as I have seen another painting online, identically signed, dated 1914, the scene depicted in that example given as the River Wye in Wales...

This is a pre-1900, fine original oil by J.F. Herring. Overall with frame it measures 42” by 30”. The painting itself is 36” by 24”. It is fully signed J.F. Herring.

A very appealing small forest interior painting on board, 9" by 11" (12" by 14" in modern day gold framing), unsigned on front but on reverse in old hand is written (difficult to decipher) "near XXX farm Hampstead Heath/Oct. 3 1908 5 PM/P. P. (XXXX)". The word after P.P. is the last name of the artist but it has defied my efforts to make it out. The scene is painted in luminous tan colors with light grayish green and cream here and there, all in a very impressionistic blond to silvery light. ...
