I considered these might be by the famed German painter Adolph Menzel but think that unlikely...
Oil on board still life painting of colorful flowers, 23 1/2" by 23 1/2" (26" by 26" as framed), signed at lower left with stylized initials. The artist is Max Hansen, born 1898. This was acquired from a local family who related that it was painted in Germany by their relative. The work is nicely painted by an obviously talented hand. Condition is very good. Frame is wood.
This gifted artist was born in the Tyrolean Alps in 1911. He studied in Munich and Viena. Returning to his homeland, he specialized in painting
portraits. His subjects were usually sun-browned peasants, depicted with brilliant realism and detail. He has exhibited and has received wide acclaim

By the famous and important American-born artist who lived much of his life in Europe, this is a PAIR of unframed portrait paintings of a middle aged man and middle aged woman, one signed on the reverse "Cucuel" and dated there 1934, the other not signed. The portrait of the man (on the reverse of which is a lightly sketched out female face) measures 30" by 25 1/2" and that of the woman 25 1/2" by 20". These are works by the important San Francisco born artist EDWARD ALFRED CUCUEL (1875-1954)...

Oil on canvas painting of flowers in a vase in an interior space, 23 1/2" by 25 3/4", signed at lower right by German artist ROLF REGELE (1899-1987). Regele was a student of Rudolf Stolz, and he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He painted generally landscapes of the Tirol region of Austria and Italy, as well as still life. During the 1930's his paintings were often reproduced full size and on post cards...
A circa 1920 oil on canvas of apples and sprigs of blossoms on a tabletop, 18" by 27 1/2" (26" by 36" in original frame), signed at right center "A. Landsberger" (or, many variations thereof could be possible). The signature, in red in old Germanic hand, is on top of an apparently older, incised signature that is quite different (and, very difficult to make out). The work is very nicely executed by a trained hand, and is in excellent antique condition, with no tears or flaking...

A strong oil on wood portrait of a gentleman sporting a long ponytail, and wearing a large black hat, a ruffled white shirt, a brownish-gray jacket. Cleverly executed to look like the painting is oval and in a mat, in actuality the entire surface is painted and is not a mat.
The condition of this work is excellent, with no issues or restoration. The frame, which is modern, nicely complements this work sight size is 6 1/2" by 4 1/2", with the framed size being 8 3/4" by 7".
Max von Schmaedel, German, 1856-?, oil on Academy Board, Portrait of Miss Davenport, 12 x 9 inches, signed and inscribed "M. v. Schmaedel/München" lower right, period frame. The sitter is identified in a copy of a letter dated August 3, 1905, from Seth Mendell to William C. Davenport, President of The Machinists' Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, in an envelope affixed to the back of the painting. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.
