At first I had difficulty reading the signature but some net research showed this to be by an artist apparently at least originally hailing from Louisiana, there being a number of pieces, some still life works, having been auctioned in New Orleans. Oil on canvas laid on board, 3 1/4" by 5 3/4", 6 1/2" by 8 3/4" framed, this work is almost a miniature. The subject is typical Texas: a dirt road winding into the distance in a country landscape, trees at the right. I would be tempted to say this is a typical "bluebonnet painting", featuring the famous wildflower display that anyone who has been in Texas in the spring will recall with fondness; but the signature at lower left "GOFF" is very interesting...

Classic saguaro type cactus in a yellow pot, set on a gray stone patio, against a bright blue background, measuring 14" by 11", unframed, apparently unsigned. This is an antique painting of a rose in a tall glass vase, 13 1/2" by 5 3/8" framed, unsigned, circa 1900. Found in Rockland, Maine.
