Impressionist American painting of a beautiful landscape in late spring or early summer, unframed, unsigned, contemporary, likely acrylic, on canvas laid down on a foamboard, measuring 20" by 24". The work is obviously by a trained and skilled hand. Condition is excellent; needs only a frame. This being a "standard" size at 20 by 24, a suitable, flattering, pre-made frame should be easy to locate.

For the fans of the "Big Eye" paintings, here is a pair of mid century retro style works in oil on board, each 23 1/2" by 11 1/4", and each signed at lower right. The signatures are hard to decipher; I'm guessing "Balmiani" or "Dalmiani". If I am reading them at all correctly, I am not able to tie these names to any of the listed, recognized big eye painters. Regardless of authorship, these are sure to please the devoted big eye collector...

Old horizontal format landscape, oil on board, featuring trees, a creek or lake, the only sign of man a picket fence near the group of trees at center, signed at lower left "Ferguson". The painting likely dates to about 1925 or 1930. Measurements are 14 1/2" by 25" (19" by 32 1/2" in frame that dates to about 1965). There is stable authentically old "alligatoring" of the paint (a crackling pattern related to how quickly the paint dried)...

Large oil on canvas, 30" by 40", unframed, signed at lower left by the artist and dated there "30", the subject a snowy, rugged mountain range with autumnal colors and evergreens, a small lake in the middle ground. The artist, RICHARD DEY DE RIBCOWSKY (1880-1936) was a prolific painter, and a well traveled one, at that. For his time he was truly an adventurous traveler. Oil on canvasboard painting of gulls flying above the waves, the stern of a boat at left, 12" by 16", (17" by 21 1/2" framed), signed in ink on reverse ("Painted by Edith Fite"/XXX Magee 1951"). The scene reminds of how hungry gulls loyally follow the back end of a fishing boat. I have not located information on the artist. The painting could well benefit from a cleaning after about 70 years.
