Beautifully painted impressionist work by artist "Rosis", dated at lower right 1961, the scene buildings and old style lamp posts, the French tricolor flag appearing several times. The painting though created at mid twentieth century seems to harken back to the famous late 19th century scenes by vaunted artists like Monet, Sisley, Pissarro, and the other major impressionists. I do not see a listing under this name but the artist was very talented...

Oil on masonite portrait of a classic man of Bavaria with his traditional hat and shirt, 15 1/2" by 14" (23 1/2" by 21 1/2" framed), signed at upper left corner and dated 47 by the well listed German artist ANDREAS MITTERFELLER (1912-1972). The artist created traditional horizontal format landscape works which appear frequently at auction in Germany, but I see only a very few portraits or genre works in the records...

Oil on canvas painting of autumnal trees in an extensive landscape, signed lower right by artist SAIMA SYVERSON (1891-1978). The work, 24" by 30" (29" by 35" in circa 1950's attractive frame) is an impressive size, and the rich impasto brushwork adds to the appeal. Condition is excellent save for a 1" small narrow loss at extreme top left, and there is a small piece of the frame missing at bottom center...

This is an American painting from the first half of the 20th century, the subject gulls in flight. The unsigned oil on canvas measures 24" by 36", plus 2 1/2" of interesting Deco style weathered black painted wood frame on a side. I purchased this in Miami some years back, thinking the work bore considerable resemblance to the Florida-period works of JANE PETERSON (1876-1965), a major American artist who painted in South Florida for some time...

Hans Zatzka was born on 8 March 1859 in Vienna. His father Bartholomaüs was a construction worker, and his mother was Marie Karpischek Zatzka.[6] Between 1877 and 1882, he studied at the Academie des Beaux-Arts, under Christian Griepenkerl, Carl Wurzinger, and Karl von Blaas.Zatzka was able to earn a living through the production of frescoes for churches and other institutions. In 1885, Zatzka was commissioned to create the ceiling fresco The Naiad of Baden at Kurhaus Baden.

A very nicely painted work, oil on canvasboard, 16" by 20" (20 1/2" by 24 1/2" in white and yellow frame), titled on a label "Tea Ceremony", the artist name given there as Mario Munoz, and signed M. Munoz at lower right corner. We see a young woman in traditional kimono and hair treatment, seated on the floor next to a low table set with tea service, two shallow bowls with food, and a vase at rear with yellow flowers, perhaps chrysanthemums...

Lucioni immigrated to North Bergen, New Jersey with his family in 1911. Anton Otto Fischer (1882-1962) German-American Artist. "WINTER STREAM" Oil on Canvas. Dimensions; 28" x 21"; site 24" x 18". Excellent condition. Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

This is an eye-catching work in an electric-orange color palette, signed at lower right by important California painter EDWARD REEP (1918-2013). Painted in what appears to be a mixture of perhaps thinned oil and gouache, the work itself measures 22 1/2" by 13 1/2". It was found in a narrow modern green plastic frame that contrasts dramatically with the bright orange of the work itself. Signed boldly at lower right, this painting is on board...

Suprisingly, I see absolutely no information or auction record for any artist of this name. The work measures 16" by 20" and 20" by 24" as framed...

It is a bit loose on the stretcher but otherwise is in good condition. Major star's name is Nigar Shyam, and there is writing in Arabic which I would imagine place this in the northern or western part of the country.
