This is a very early watercolor, 9 1/2" by 5 3/4" framed, in the style of the early 19th century, titled at bottom "Double Rose", by an anonymous artist lost to time. His or her handiwork has survived likely 150 years or more but has lost a little color from fading, and the paper has browned. These are not faults---rather, they give the drawing age and character...

A nicely painted and tranquil signed watercolour of a sailboat on a lake with islands and distant mountains c1920s. This 7-1/8" x 4-1/2" sight size picture is in what appears to be the original gilt and painted wood embossed 10-1/4" x 7-1/2" frame with a gold mat. It is signed L. Livingston (unidentified), and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, fading, tears, staining, foxing, losses, damage or repairs...

Chinese ink and color on paper painting of a Xinjiang minority girl herding camels by Liu Dawei (b. 1945). Dated in cycle years to 1999 and signed in black ink Dawei with one red Dawei seal of the artist. Mounted for framing with a cream-colored silk border. Painting: 27” x 26 1/8” (including silk border: 35” x 34 1/2"). Very good overall condition. During mounting, a few barely noticeable and well executed repairs were made to small losses in the paper primarily at the edges...

Chinese brush painting by Nie Ou. A well known female artist in China, she was born in 1948. She graduated from the Central Art Academy School in Beijing and has received several awards. Her work is shown worldwide. This is one of seven pictures we have. It is mounted on silk brocade. The entire area is 19 inches by 29 inches; the picture size is 13 inches by 18 inches.

A StylizedGroup of Crane Painting by Priest Joong-Kwang (1935-2002): Korea, this painting mounted with a brocaded cloth and wood framed back. This quite large stylized group of crane painted in ink and red color on paper, and dated 1980s, signed Joong-Kwang in red seal in Korean. It’s in very fine condition, and measures 113.7cm x 39.5cm (44 3/4” x 15 1/2”) painting only.

This is a nicely executed watercolor of a cathedral on the banks of a river, identified by an old pencil inscription on the reverse as "At Mantes on the Seine". Measuring 9 1/2" by 13 1/2" inside the mat opening and 15 1/2" by 20" as framed behind Plexiglas, the work appears to be unsigned. In the style of the times, the drawing was glued to a thin board, long ago...

This is a very pleasing country landscape (9 3/4" by 13 3/4" inside the mat, 16 1/2" by 20 1/4" as framed), executed in watercolor on paper by listed 20th century British artist F.L. BLANCHARD. A kind Englishman has emailed me to inform me that the building in the landscape is what is known as an "oasthouse", commonly seen in Kent, and used for processing hops for the brewing of beer...

This is a large and accomplished watercolor painting of a pedestrian-friendly, appealing street, (18" by 26 3/4", 24" by 44" framed) by the noted American watercolorist painter and much-loved art educator RUTH BADERIAN (1927-2010). From the names of the businesses in the scene, I was able to determine that the street scene is from Christiansted, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean...

“Il Golfo Di Napoli” Gouache on board, 10.5" x 7" framed, circa 1860 Mr. Guisti was a very popular and prolific street artist of the 19th century. He worked and lived mostly in Naples, Italy however his art can be found in galleries all over the world. This gem was discovered while searching for antiques in New York City.

Watercolor on paper, 9 1/8" by 6 3/4" inside the mat (14 1/4" by 11 5/8" in its simple green frame), unsigned, the subject a Spanish (most likely) church tower with arched and arcaded breezeways. I've opened this and don't find a signature nor other information. My best guess is that this would be one of the famous buildings in the south of Spain, such as Granada, Sevilla, etc., though I suppose it possible that it could be elsewhere in the Mediterranean region...

Small contemporary watercolor painting of traditional adobe buildings in New Mexico, a kiva oven in foreground, signed at lower left by Santa Clara Pueblo artist ROSALDA SPECKLED ROCK, wife of Paul Speckled Rock of local pottery making fame. This little work measures 5" by 7" in inexpensive black plastic framing. The artist is mentioned online as associated with a gallery studio offering her husband's pottery pieces, in northern New Mexico...

Watercolor coastal scene with rocks and sea birds, tiny sails on the horizon, signed at lower left by artist Wang Zhi Bin (including artist seal) and dated there 10. 1991. A nicely executed work by an artist about which information seems to be lacking. Measures 16 1/4" by 23 1/4" inside the mat, and 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in light-colored frame. The work is in excellent condition.

Old watercolor painting of yellow daffodils in a green vase, 13 3/4" by 13" (19 1/2" by 19" in old, likely original frame), signed at lower right "KAY". There are a number of last names of listed artist by that name, but it would be difficult to point to any particular one as our painter. The work likely dates to about 1930 give or take about ten years. The color scheme and framing, not to mention the pottery vase, really give a feeling of Arts and Crafts...

Original gouache by Louis Wolchonok (American, New York, 1898-1973). This painting measures 15" by 5" (22" by 12" in its original frame). It is signed l.l. "Louis Wolchonok". Wolchonok is known as a painter, etcher, and author. He studied at the Academie Julian, at the NAD, the Cooper Union, and the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Art. Well listed, exhibited, and collected.
