A work signed at lower right, of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996), the full sheet measuring 19 1/2" by 24" (26 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed behind glass). Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled home with tourists to the island. This would account for the wide distribution of his distinctive work. Today his daughter continues the family tradition, with similar looking paintings being sold to visitors...

Watercolor on paper laid on board still life of flowers and a vase in an interior, 15 1/2" by 11 1/2" (25" by 20" in a tired and worn old frame, not pictured but possibly available at no extra cost), signed at lower left and dated 1870 by the well listed New York artist MORSTON CONSTANTINE REAM (1840-1898). This is a rather early work by an accomplished and well listed artist, the younger brother of CARDUCIUS PLANTAGENET REAM (1837-1917), who encouraged Morston to develop his art skills...

An antique drawing in ink and watercolor, 4 1/4" by 6 3/4" inside the mat, 11" by 13 1/4" framed, unsigned, featuring a rolling landscape with stand of trees and tiny figures. At left a full hay wagon is pulled by an animal; at center a couple walks together; at right, three others take a break and chat. This could possibly be an American drawing after an English etching. The materials and framing look American, the scene less so...

Watercolor painting of a mountain landscape in autumn, signed at lower left with what appears as "F. Renaud". A brook or stream occupies the right center. This is a nicely painted work, 4 5/8" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, 8 3/4" by 10 3/4" simply framed. The watercolor probably dates to the 1960's or 1970's. Photos were taken with the present cloudy non-glare glass removed. I suggest discarding it permanently in favor of regular glass. Ready to hang on the wall as-is, though.

Watercolor on paper painting of classic buttes and mesas of the great Southwest, possibly Arizona or Utah, 22 1/2" by 28" as framed, the work signed in very small writing at lower right with what appears as "E. T. Bell" and dated there July 4, 1933 (or, possibly, 1935). The painting is a strong watercolor by a talented hand but if I am reading this correctly, there does not appear to be a known artist of that name...

A semi-antique Polish large watercolor painting from around 1930-1940 by the well-known listed Polish artist HENRYK SAJDAK (1905-1995).

This is an exquisite watercolor painting meticulously crafted on paper that showcases a breathtaking view of the Łazienki Palace located on an island in Warsaw, Poland. The artist has skillfully captured the beauty of the Palace, its surroundings, and the sparkling water in the foreground...

Watercolor painting of the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, circa turn of the century plus or minus a few years (bears date, apparently 1902, extreme right corner), 11 1/4" by 20", (20" by 28 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right indecipherably. The signature appears as "Bonary" or something similar. The painting was executed on paper, which has oxidized over the years, there being a definite browning now...

Beautifully executed watercolor signed at lower left "DAVIES", of a male mallard in flight above a tawny field. Measurements 4 3/8" by 6 7/8" (11 3/8" by 13 1/2" as framed). Large watercolor painting of the famous formations at Monument Valley, Arizona, arguably one of the most iconic sights of the American Southwest. The work, signed at lower left simply "George", measures 20" by 27 1/2" inside the mat and 31 3/4" by 40" framed. The artist was obviously quite skilled, but he did not leave us a lot of evidence as to his identity. The painting probably dates to the 1970's or 1980's...

Attractive, vintage watercolor painting of colorful flowers in a sunny garden, measuring 9 1/2" by 14" (16" by 21" framed). This lovely work is apparently unsigned--I have opened the backing to peer inside and see neither signature nor any other information besides numbers in pencil. The painting does have some age. The artist clearly had an excellent command of the watercolor medium. The custom mat with hand drawn lines and silvery border adds to the appeal...

Contemporary or late 20th century watercolor painting of flowering cacti, 14" by 19 1/4" (22" by 28 1/2" in black frame) signed at lower right by artist Anita Zirkle. I do not see biographical information on the artist but she has excelled here, showing her full talent as she creates a close-up (think Georgia O'Keeffe) of yellow flowers on beavertail or similar cacti. Look at the pistils of the blossom---amazing technique by the artist. Condition is excellent. Black frame shows some wear.
