A work signed at lower right, of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996), the full sheet measuring 19 1/2" by 24" (26 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed behind glass). Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled home with tourists to the island. Watercolor painting of a mountain landscape in autumn, signed at lower left with what appears as "F. Renaud". A brook or stream occupies the right center. This is a nicely painted work, 4 5/8" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, 8 3/4" by 10 3/4" simply framed. The watercolor probably dates to the 1960's or 1970's. Photos were taken with the present cloudy non-glare glass removed. I suggest discarding it permanently in favor of regular glass. Ready to hang on the wall as-is, though.

I see there are a few listed Davies artists but am not sure that this is one of them. If you like wildlife and sporting art or are a member of Ducks Unlimited, you will like this little painting! .

Large watercolor painting of the famous formations at Monument Valley, Arizona, arguably one of the most iconic sights of the American Southwest. The work, signed at lower left simply "George", measures 20" by 27 1/2" inside the mat and 31 3/4" by 40" framed. The artist was obviously quite skilled, but he did not leave us a lot of evidence as to his identity. The painting probably dates to the 1970's or 1980's...

This lovely work is apparently unsigned--I have opened the backing to peer inside and see neither signature nor any other information besides numbers in pencil. The painting does have some age. Contemporary or late 20th century watercolor painting of flowering cacti, 14" by 19 1/4" (22" by 28 1/2" in black frame) signed at lower right by artist Anita Zirkle. I do not see biographical information on the artist but she has excelled here, showing her full talent as she creates a close-up (think Georgia O'Keeffe) of yellow flowers on beavertail or similar cacti. Look at the pistils of the blossom---amazing technique by the artist. Condition is excellent. Black frame shows some wear.
