Watercolor on paper painting of flowers in a short vase in a dish, a piece of fruit and a small book nearby, 11" by 15" inside the mat, 19 3/4" by 24" as framed, signed at lower right by the artist and dated there 1970. I do not see a lot of biographical information on the artist, but he did apparently work in a modernistic style, as Paul Klee or Lionel Feininger inspired semi-abstract or abstract works have appeared at auction in Germany...

A pair of framed watercolors, each signed by the artist, GEORGIA LEE, circa mid 1960's, the subject being familiar scenes of San Francisco: one, a pink hillside Mediterranean-style mansion most likely in the city's tony Pacific Heights section, (possibly on Divisadero, or Broderick or Fillmore); the other a downtown view towards the Ferry Building and the Embarcadero Freeway, (which was built in 1959---thereby helping us to date the works)...

Original watercolor on paper painting of the famous and iconic Brulatour Courtyard in New Orleans, Louisiana, signed at lower right "F. W. Steck", measuring 13 5/8" by 19 1/4" inside the mat, and 21" by 27" as framed. On the reverse framing paper is written in black marker "Foyer"/Florence W. Steck/(215)789-0966". Online research has revealed the artist to be a talented woman who was born in 1919 and passed away in 1994...

Fine watercolor on paper drawing of a dirt road or track in a country landscape, signed at lower left by the listed American artist NEIL REID MITCHILL (sometimes misspelled as "Mitchell") 1858-1934. Mitchill was born in New York and was painting in nearby Connecticut by the 1890's, where he is credited with being the first resident artist of Westport (which went on to become a 20th century art colony of sorts)...

This is a larger than typically seen watercolor of roses, in the style prevalent around the turn of the century. The work is signed at lower right corner "E. J. Fischer". Measurements are 20" by 29" and 25" by 34" in the white wood frame. There is a listing for an artist in Denmark by that name but I believe this to be an American work and unrelated to the European artist. Condition is excellent. Found in Southern California...

Watercolor painting titled on the mat in ink "Rockport Bay", the subject small craft in a sheltered small harbor framed by distant hills. The artist signed the drawing at lower left "Norma Page Aug. '45" and again signed, this time on the mat, at lower right. There is another word after "Page" that appears as "Douyes" or "Damyes" or similar, but I am unable to locate a listed artist by any of these names...

English 19th century watercolor painting of a view of a small river outside a town, two fishermen at left trying their luck in the sluggish waters, the painting signed at lower left "F. K. Seville". The work measures 12 1/2" by 16" inside the mat (21 1/2" by 23 3/4" nicely framed with hand drawn mat lines). Note the details of the skyline, with its many church steeples. The work is nicely painted, which makes it all the more surprising that there is no listing for the artist...

A watercolor with white gouache of a barn and another structure on an overcast, gray, snowy day, an old buckboard wagon at right center, the work signed below the mat GENE R DREW. I do not see a listing for the artist, who likely painted this around the year 1970 judging from the framing and non-glare type glass (which will be discarded before shipping). The piece, on Crescent art board, measures 18 3/4" by 25" inside the mat, and 25" by 31" in worn dark oak framing...

A 9" by 13" watercolor painting (15" by 19" framed) of a river bounded by vegetation several ducks swimming picturesquely at lower right, signed at lower left by the noted historian and author Edgar Mayhew Bacon (1855-1935) of Tarrytown, New York. The work is titled on an old Hudson Valley Art Exhibition exhibition label "Ashley River, Near Charleston S.C. $35.00". Bacon was a noted historian and author...

Ink on rice type paper, approximately 13" by 11" inside the mat, the subject appearing to be a child, with a bird above, signed at lower right "Serisawa" in ballpoint, inscribed "To Gertrude & Jim from Sueo" at lower left in ballpoint. This is an example of the artistry of the American-Japanese artist SUEO SERISAWA (1910-2004)...

**ONE OF TWO WORKS BY THIS ARTIST IN MY SHOP** This is a mixed media work on paper, (watercolor and gouache) 8 1/2" by 12", 16" by 19 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right in pencil by the artist "J Cl Imbert". The landscape scene includes a few trees and a small river rendered in subdued colors. Thee primary medium is watercolor but there are tiny spots of gouache, and possibly charcoal in the tree branches, and scratching technique. No foxing or damage.

A pleasing watercolor painting of small boats in a coastal landscape in England, 10" by 14 3/4" (13" by 17 3/4" framed), signed at lower right twice, by listed English artist JOHN MORTIMER. Mortimer painted watercolors in Cornwall, Devon, Sussex, and other parts of the British Isles. The work is in excellent condition. Old backing has a print of a landscape. Allow for reflections in a few photos.

A good-sized watercolor (30 1/2" by 22 1/2", and 37 1/2" by 29 1/2" in present framing without glass), the subject New Mexico adobes in a late autumn landscape, the trees in flaming yellows, backed by surrounding mountains. Watercolor on paper, 10 1/4" by 14" inside the present mat, and 3 1/2" of frame and mat, signed at lower right "G. MORELL" (or, MORELLY or MORELLI), showing a Southwest Hopi style native American pot against a striped background. This is an original watercolor, and NOT A PRINT! I do not see a listing for this obviously talented artist, but this is a very decorative work that will grace any home or office seeking a Southwest theme. Condition is excellent with fresh colors and no damage.
