Paul B. Pascal (French, 1832-1903) gouache on paper landscape of Arabs in the Sahara Desert with pyramids and ruined temple. Dated 1902. Size: 9.5 inches x 17 inches (sight). Condition: some light scratches in sky and a one and a half inch tear at the right margin (see photo detail.) Paul Pascal was an artist who specialized in Orientalist paintings. He worked almost exclusively in gouache and watercolor, and his favorite subjects were the nomadic Arabs of north Africa...

Chevolleau is today considered a part of the School of Paris (in fact he is listed in that landmark book by that name). His works are generally modern, some abstract or completely so. Watercolor painting of yellow roses on their prickly stems, 11" by 7 3/4" (16 1/2" by 12 3/4" framed), unsigned, circa late 19th century or early 20th. There is an old framer's label on the reverse backing from Boston. Condition is good, mat should be replaced, as well as old-style acidic old sawn wood backing boards. The mat edges did leave browning to mark their presence but that would be hidden completely by a new mat.

Fine watercolor on paper drawing of a dirt road or track in a country landscape, signed at lower left by the listed American artist NEIL REID MITCHILL (sometimes misspelled as "Mitchell") 1858-1934. Mitchill was born in New York and was painting in nearby Connecticut by the 1890's, where he is credited with being the first resident artist of Westport (which went on to become a 20th century art colony of sorts)...

In a new year day, three girls playing “teeter totter” with a wood panel board, a girl holding a child on her back and watching at the play ground in front of Korean houses with wearing a Korean traditional new year costume cloth. It’s in very good condition with a silk mounting and frame, it measures 43cm x 34.5cm.
