Measurements are 25 3/4" by 18 3/4" (30 1/2" by 24 1/4" as framed). Derain was a major French artist in the first half of the twentieth century, renowned early on for his Fauvist works and later for a wealth of works, both drawings and paintings, many of which depicted the female nude. A circa 1940's restrike print of the popular ice skating scene from "American Winter Scenes" series, measuring 17" by 23 3/4" inside the mat and 23 3/4" by 30 1/2" framed. The title was evidently cut off from central bottom portion at one point and was then affixed to reverse side. Coloring is in the print most likely and not hand coloring.
