Etching on paper, 5 1/2" by 3" inside the innermost mat, (12" by 9" in green and gold mats, as ready for framing--presently unframed), the title of the print "La Rue du Change, Tours", pencil signed at lower right margin by the artist and dated there 1924. Tours is an historical old city of about 135,000 south and west of Paris, considered a gateway to the Loire Valley chateau region. This is a fine impression of the particular print, of which 156 were made...

Original etching by the British artist, Arthur Brisco, measuring 6 1/2 x 10 7/8 inches, 1926, signed and numbered; 62/75, cat: Hurst-158. Britain's "General Strike" was the theme of Brisco's dramatic image of "The Orator". The strike, mainly by coal-miners upset with their goverments' reduction in wages and worsening conditions, also included dockers, printers, power station workers and transport workers, thus Brisco's interest in the subject.

A decorative print after a seventeenth century ink drawing by Dutch Golden Age painter GERBRAND VAN DEN EECKHOUT (1621-1674), titled on reverse label "Zeichner vor einem Bauernhause Sitzend" ("Artist Seated in Front of a Farmhouse"). The print measures 5 3/4" by 7 3/4" (15 3/4" by 17" framed). The brownish ink and pebbled paper creates a very convincing piece that could almost be mistaken for an actual old drawing...

A double signed photogravure done by the son of Douglas Volk circa 1900 with a drawing of the Volk Life Mask of Lincoln and a drawing of the hand of Lincoln in the selvage. As a footnote, this work was presented by Douglas Volk to Daniel Chester French (1850-1931) as a gift on the occasion of the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial in 1922.

Aquatint and etching on paper, 13 1/4" by 18" (20" by 24 1/4" as framed), signed at lower right and numbered "283" at lower left, the subject the world famous Notre Dame de Paris cathedral in central Paris at twilight, seen in the classic southeast view from the banks of the adjacent Seine River, by the French artist MANUEL ROBBE (1872-1936). I believe the title of this work is indeed "Notre Dame at Twilight", or, just "Notre Dame de Paris"; it dates to the year 1925...

A great image of a Spanish bull fight, this etching with drypoint measures 10 1/8 x 11 1/2 inches, published in 1929 in an edition of 100, pencil signed and numbered. Hermine David was born and raised in Paris and at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on the study at the Academy Julien...

MUNNINGS (1878-1959)...

A fine color etching, "Park Avenue", circa 1929, by the noted Austro-Hungarian etcher, painter, and printmaker Luigi Kasimir (1881-1962). The scarce vintage print is in apparent excellent condition (not examined out of frame). Measurements are 17 3/4" by 11 1/4" inside the mat, 26" by 19" framed. Kasimir is known today largely for his prints of street and city scenes in both Europe and America, rendered in fine detail, as color etchings, a process in which he was a pioneer...

Frank Benson, American, 1862-1951, etching, "The Passing Flock", image size: 11 3/4 x 13 3/4 in, 1927, signed in pencil, published state, edition of 150 (Paff 277), on laid paper with "ENGLAND" watermark

This is the 1928 (issue date) work "L'Eglise de Limours", dated and signed 1922 in the plate at lower left, after a painting by French School of Paris master artist MAURICE UTRILLO (1883-1955), with the graphic art assistance of also important master artist Jacques Villon. The work, unframed, and measuring 19 1/2" by 11 1/4" presently, is one of the very collectable "Chalcographie du Louvre" impressions...

Arthur J. T. Briscoe, British, 1873-1943, "Hauling the Net Aboard". This 1926 etching by master printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 7 x 11 7/8 inches and is signed in ink and editioned as 38/75. Lable on backing with provenance from C.W. Kraushaar Galleries, NY. Members of the crew aboard the trawler "Guess Again" concentrate on hauling the days catch aboard. The forground figure is "Old Sam" a figure Briscoe used in many of his images...

An old print featuring a panorama of Florence, Italy, with the famous architecture and bridges seen across the Arno River. The print appears to be a lithographic process of some type. Measurements are 18" by 33" in its contemporary-age black attractive framing, so this horizontal piece works well on a long wall space in need of some art. Plexi makes for safe shipping; there are some light scratches on that...

This Francisco de Goya etching was published as a frontispiece to the 1922 Delteil edition of "Le Peintre Graveur Illustre". In beautiful original unframed condition.

Lithograph on paper, the sheet 20" by 14 3/4" (24" by 20" as framed), in black with blue color especially at bottom, not signed in pencil nor in the plate, by important French 20th century woman artist MARIE LAURENCIN (1885-1956). On the reverse is written in pencil in French handwriting "M. Laurencin/j. fille au chien/lith. orig." ("young girl with dog/original lithograph"). The image is typical of the work of this noted artist...

Dorsey Potter Tyson 1891-1969 American This is a very fine original hand colored drypoint etching by American artist Dorsey Potter Tyson. The title is: Dragon Boat Festival, this etching was created and printed in 1929 in an edition of 100, this one is numbered as 42/100. This pencil signed etching measures an image of 11 7/8X9 7/8 inches. It is nicely framed in an orientalist frame with french matting.
