Scarce lithograph print of 1922, "Eislauf" (Ice Skating), pencil signed at lower right by the enormously important German Expressionist, MAX BECKMANN (1884-1949), the sheet measuring 23 1/2" by 15 1/2". The image shows a delightful variety of people of all ages enjoying the open air pleasures of skating. This print was published by Reinhard Piper in Munich in a total edition of 230 examples. Sir Frank Brangwyn, British, 1867-1956, "Scaffolding, No. 1 (L`Échafaudage)," etching, plate measures 19 x 20 3/4 inches on 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 inch wove type paper. A richly inked drypoint from 1919. Catalog reference: Gaunt 245. Edition of 54. Pencil signed in the lower right. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

Sir Frank Short, 1857-1945, British, "The New Moon," Aquatint, image size 10 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches, 1918, cat. Hardie-163, pencil signed. One of Short's largest aquatints, this scene depicts two fishermen on the Bure at Stokesby Ferry near Acle in Norfolk.

Original scarce 1915 etching known variously as "Sunset Williamsburg Bridge", or, "New York, From the Williamsburg Bridge", signed at lower right margin in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). The sheet, unframed, measures 11 1/2" by 16 5/8". After the signature, the "imp." indicates that Pennell would have printed this himself...

Corinth began his career studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and went on to study under Bouguereau at the Academie Julian in Paris...

One of an edition of only 50, a scarce to rare lithograph of the year 1912, "The Jungle", signed and titled at lower right margin in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). The print measures 20" by 23" and the frame is about an inch wide on a side...

This large print is an etching on paper in dark brown ink, and a heavily inked example at that, the subject apparently "Turkish Cemetery", according to a pencil notation in the upper left margin. Measuring 19" by 20" inside the mat (28" by 28 1/2" as framed), the work is signed in pencil in margin at lower left with the distinctive signature of the noted English modern art figure FRANK BRANGWYN (1867-1956)...

Stanley Anderson 1884-1966 British This is a rare early drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson. The title is: Perivale, a small town outside of London. This etching was created and printed in 1911. The image measures 5 3/4X9 5/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower border and titled lower left border. Printed on a medium weight watermarked with initials, laid type sheet. Fine use of plate tone in the sky area.
