Imperial folio lithograph with hand coloring after John W. Audubon of a pair of Little Nimble Weasels in winter coats printed by J.T. Bowen 1848. This print was part of the three volume folio printed between 1845 and 1848 of the Viviparous Quadruped of North America. The sheet is approximately 22 x 28 inches (56 x 71 cm), the mat opening 18 ½ x 24 ½ inches (47 x 62 cm) and the oak frame 24 ¾ x 31 ½ inches (61 x 80 cm)...

Etching on delicate Japan paper, 13 3/4" by 10 1/2" inside the mat (20" by 15 1/2" framed) signed in the plate at lower right by the important 19th century French etcher, CHARLES MERYON (1821-1868). There are modern-day notations on the framing paper: "....Casimir Le Comte after Gustave Boulanger, 2nd state, 1856, and "from Kennedy & Co." Meryon was born in Paris to an English physician father and French dancer mother...

Alphonse Legros 1837-1911 French This is a fine large etching by French artist Alphonse Legros. The title is; Le Retour du Bois (Return from the Woods), Created circa 1880's. This was part of his series known as Death and the Wood cutter. This pencil signed impression measures 9 1/4X14 inches. Legros was a well known founder of the etching revival in France. This is one of his largest compositions. This image is in the collections of many museums through out the world...

This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Charles Jacque (1813-1894) This etching of a Shepherd is quite large, rare for this artist. It has an image size of 14 3/4X18 1/4 inches. It is clearly signed in the lower right border. It is printed on a medium weight wove type paper, light even toning. A very rare image by this important Barbizon artist.

Original Harper's Weekly large wood engraving "ON THE WAY TO THE DIGGINGS---HALT IN A ROUGH PASS IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS", May 1, 1875, signed in the print by noted artists JULES TAVERNIER (1844-1889) and PAUL FRENZENY (1840-1902). The print is generally clean and fresh considering the advanced age, with the typical center fold and just a barely noticeable 1 1/2" vertical tear extending into the image at bottom center...

This attractive and interesting print is a cover of the November 19, 1897 issue of the famous Parisian literary periodical "Gil Blas", which was issued between the years 1879 and 1914. Named after Alain-Rene Lesage's novel, it was a popular read in the late 19th and early 20th century among the fashionable. It serialized famous novels before they appeared as books...

The prints both measures 8 3/4" by 12 1/2" (14 1/2" by 18 1/2" as framed). Roberts is best known for his lithographed images of sites in the classical Middle East, of which these are typical examples. I've not examined these out of the frames but they do appear to be in excellent, clean condition...

This is a nineteenth century European painting facsimile, consisting of hand coloring over a photo-mechanical print, the finished product quite convincing and possessing considerable decorative value. The work measures 10" by 7 3/4" (16" by 13" framed). The name of the artist who created the original painting from which this was derived appears in red at lower right, the name "Marqueta" or similar.
