Pitt is shown half length with document on a desk. The engraving has been cut down within the plate marks and the legend at the bottom is rather damaged but still readan=ble.The engraved portrait is in good condition and has long ago been mounted on a strengthenoing sheet of paper. Sherwin was a well regarded follower of the more famous Bartolozzi. The portrait was engraved in the year of the French Revolution...

I offer this work on paper, 19" by 25" inside the mat, 26 1/2" by 33" framed in simple black frame (to be shipped without glass), as a print of some kind by the important Swiss modern artist HANS ERNI (1909-2015). Signed in the plate at lower right and dated there "60", this would appear to be a monotype, or possibly a lithograph, with hand coloring added. Several examples are to be seen in the auction record, and they are I believe mistakenly described as gouache, original, unique works...
**SET OF 4** The French fashion and costume magazine "La Mode Illustree" operated from about 1859 through at least the 1920's, featuring the styles of the day. This is a set of four fine engravings, circa 1875 or 1880, judging from the fashion depicted. All are hand colored. Size as framed 15 1/2" by 12 3/4" (one without glass, which had shattered). The framing stained oak. The prints are very clean inside the mats...
Stephen Parrish, American, 1846-1938, "Fishery on the Dee". A very fine original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish, this image is one of three images Parrish created of Chester, a small walled town near Liverpool, England. The image size is 9 1/4 x 7 3/8 inches, 1884, state I/II, before the remarque in the lower margin, cat: Schneider- 107, pencil signed.
