Sir William Russell Flint 1880-1969 British This is a fine expressive drypoint etching by British artist Sir William Russell Flint. The title is: Clatter and Whirl, Granada, it was created and printed in 1931 in an edition of 75. This image is hand signed, with sepia ink, numbered as XV and inscribed as using An antique laid type sheet from 1744, "D.R." The image measures 8 1/4X13 7/8 inches, printed with a brown toned ink, a very rich impression.

The frame size: 28"x 31" Image size: 19 1/4" x16 1/2". The subject of serigraph title, "Op Sail". It is excellent condition of Serigraph and frame. It is signed and numbered 106/150 by the artist, Phillip Kelsey and numbered on lower right in pencil. It is Original Serigraph, not Offset print. Printed on Arches paper. Arthur J. T. Briscoe, British, 1873-1943, "Casting Her Off". This 1927 marine etching by the British printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 9 7/8 x 15 7/8 inches, hand signed in inked and editioned as 58/75. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast...

An original poster dating to 1977, 32" by 18 1/2" in present gray metal framing, advertising an exhibition in Phoenix at the Galleria of the downtown Arizona Bank building, of works by two sentinel photographers of the 20th century in the Southwest: Ansel Adams (1902-1984), and Frederick Sommer (1905-1999). Sommer, born in Italy, lived in Prescott, Arizona for much of his life...

Galerie Charpentier Exhibition Poster for 1957 entitled Cent Chefs-d'Oeuvre de l'Art Francais, featuring the Manet painting Henry Bernstein enfant painted in 1881. Poster is very good condition with slight age discoloration around the edges. It includes a thin black utility frame which we have not photographed and only crudely cropped out of the image...

A very interesting etching of what appears to be Paris' Montmartre section, (the windmill a famous feature, painted by many artists), signed in pencil in the lower right margin "B. Vilard". Surprisingly I do not see a listing for an artist by this name---could possibly be a pen name.. The work measures 8 1/2" by 11" inside the mat and 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" framed. It is very clean and fresh, despite likely dating to the first half of the 20th century. Note the subtle blue/brown colors.

An elegantly understated print featuring a bare foreground tree in a strangely empty landscape with just one small structure at the edge of a large clearing or field, signed in pencil at lower right corner and numbered 230/260 at lower left, by the noted American contemporary artist ROBERT KIPNISS (1931-). Kipniss is known for his graphic art and for his paintings, which have gone into five figures at auction...

One of Maki’s favorite themes was the image shown here. Some outstanding ones are shown in the listing. I reckon Maki did about 25 different prints with the theme Child. Several little children can be seen swimming in the image in frame 9. The child in the right of this list panel is the image imprinted in the cover of Festive Wine, to which Maki contributed 21 images in 1969.

Engraving on paper, the sheet 16 1/8" by 19" (18" by 20 1/2" as framed), the subject a bewigged magistrate type at his desk, surrounded by a salon of 18th century folk, the title line underneath beginning with "Here Justice Triumphs in his Elbow Chair.......". This is a moralizing work by one of the most famous satirists and social commentators of all time, WILLIAM HOGARTH of England (1697-1764)...

Another of Maki's all-white prints, this one is of a Chinese coin. wu wei zhi zu Frame 5 shows the Han dynasty coin which inspired this 1981 print.

Rare and complete book with text and prints by famous late Japanese print maker Tokio Miyashita 宮下登喜雄 (1930-2011). Text is in Japanese. Title: Tokai no yūshū: Hanga to zuisō [都会の憂愁 : 版画と随想] (Melancholy of the City: Prints and Thoughts)...

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English This is a fine original etching by British artist Gerald Brockhurst, The title is La Tresse, a portrait of his wife Anais done in 1926. This image is pencil signed and has an image size of 8 3/8X 6 7/8 inches. Cat. Fletcher 56. Nicely framed with archival materials.

Two fine engravings of Mount Vernon, and the White House, each framed and measuring 6 3/4" by 8 3/4". These appear to be the same images that have appeared on US currency in the past, and the very high quality type of printing (intaglio?) is the same process. These were produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, either as printing proofs, or perhaps as official souvenirs to be sold in a gift shop setting----the Bureau's name is printed at the bottom of each...

Large fine English antique mid 19th century print of mounted riders in traditional red coats, and their trained hounds, in an extensive landscape, the title "John Josselyn Esq. and the Suffolk Hounds", engraved by Charles Mottram (1807-1876) after the painting by Edward Robert Smythe (1810-1899). The print, mounted long ago to a board, was published circa 1865 by Henry Graves & Co. of Pall Mall...

Catalog reference: Gaunt 245. Edition of 54. Pencil signed in the lower right. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.
