This is a rare early engraving by Johannes Wierix after Pieter van der Borcht, printed with an image on both sides of the sheet. Each image measures 4 1/2 x 2 7/ 8 inches, 1583, a good impression on a very early laid type paper, published by 16th century book printer and publisher Christophe Plantin. One side of the sheet shows the 'Betrayal of Christ', the other 'Agony in the Garden'.

Very large 18th century stipple engraving of a fashionable crowd under the trees in the park with Buckingham house (later altered to become Buckingham Palace) in the background. Titled, “The Promenade in St. James Park,” it was engraved by F. D. Soiron, designed by Edward Dayes in 1790 and published by T. Gaugain in London in 1793. This image is the original print with hand coloring. Sight size 18 by 26 inches, frame 27 ¼ by 35 ¼ inches.

Condition: some discoloration and minor foxing...

During the 1970s, Haku Maki liked occasionally to do haniwa, depictions of terracotta figures that were funerary objects used during the 3rd to 6th centuries in Japan. This one—71-2—is a face rather than a complete figure. Created in 1971, the print is 50 of an edition of 151. It measures 5.75in x 8.5in. The print is in very good condition, with faint tape residue on the two top corners of the back, with no impact on the face.
