This unique pendant measures 2" L x 1 1/2" W x 1/4" H. On its circular / oval frame, it has several circular, concave, oxidized disks, varying in size. The back is marked 925.

Saitama Inu Hariko: painted paper; H.3" x L.3.5"; contemporary; Saitama Prefecture. The dog in Japanese folk lore symbolizes many things. This one can be a talisman for easy child birth (as dogs experience) and as a protector of children. Dogs in general are symbols of protection and loyalty, and also have the ability to recognize demons (and other animals such as fox and tanuki) in human form...

This is a most unusual, modernist piece. The sunburst design is set with a snowflake obsidian stone (1" x 3/4" at longest and widest). The pendant itself measures 3" x 3". The chain is just over 30" long. The piece is done in heavy silverplate. The back is marked B + D (for Buch and Deichman) in its logo, JHULL and DENMARK.

These unique earrings are made of scrimshaw and are hand engraved with Clipper Ships. They are on fossilized ivory and are made by Fairhaven Designs. They have a diameter of 3/8" and are 1/8" thick. They are in superb condition.

Karen Smith, a contemporary American artisan, refers to herself as a "knotter of miniature tapestry adornments." She designs knotting patterns in washable nylon thread and integrates them with gemstones. This particular necklace is composed of a serpentine dragon carving with amethyst, turquoise, black onyx, jade and goldstone beads. It is hand signed Karen Smith '06 on the back. It is a remarkable and outstanding artwork! I measures 28" end to end (measured using the inside string of beads).

Miharu Nigyou papier-mache rooster. Height: 6". From the artisan studio of Hashimoto Hiroji in Miharu-machi (town), Fukushima Prefecture. In the Asian zodiac, the rooster corresponds with the current year 2005, in a 12-year cycle. Miharu-machi (town) is located just NW of Koriyama City in central Fukushima Prefecture. They say the town’s name “mi’ (3) “haru” (spring) comes from the fact that the three famous blossoms of spring; plum peach, and cherry, bloom here in profusion...

Hariko Ningyo (papier-mache folk doll). Height: 3". From Miyagi Prefecture, City of Sendai, this folk toy is an example of the tradition "Sendai Hariko". It is a rooster, one of the 12 animals of the Asian zodiac, and corresponds to the current year, 2005. It was made at the artisan studio of Takahashi Hashime, a long-time craftsman in Sendai...

Using an elegant mix of materials, Stanley Hagler created masterpieces in jewelry. His pieces are always ornate and intricate, and this set is an example of Hagler's beautiful work.
