A porcelain two handled bowl with applied porcelain flowers and a fruit finial with bold floral decoration combined with gilding. Though the form is likely to be derived from early Meissen, the decoration is much later in tone. A giant, bright, cast gold cuff of overlapping leaves with multi color, multi shape, multi size stones scattered throughout. 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) wide, with a 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) interior diameter and a 1 1/4" (3 cm) opening. (It could probably be widened by a jeweler, though I don't suggest you do it yourself.) Signed Dominique Aurientis Paris in a disc on the back. In pristine condition.

This little fellow is composed of oxidized and hammered sterling silver with applied silver wire around the rim. His eye is a dark cobalt blue half-bead, probably lapis. The pin is secured by a sturdy, handmade modified C-clasp and pin stem. The back is hand-engraved with 925 for silver content and what appears to be a maker’s mark or initials. The pin measures 1 ¾ inches long by ¾ inches high. Gross weight: 4 grams

Japanese Contemporary Ceramic Serving Charger, or Serving Dish, 10 1/2" diameter, 1 3/4" high, checker board design with lighter brown raised lines on top of the dark brown background, Impressed Mark "Hakusan", "Mori Design", "Made in Japan" on the white bisque finish surface on the black glazed bottom. The condition is good.

Here is a collar-style necklace with a great modernist look by Ed Levin, who died in 2008. It is set with a cabochon amethyst, and made of a gilded metal. The result is a coppery finish; inside the collar is Levin’s name in script letters and ‘Bronze.’ The well-designed collar is quite comfortable and lies nicely at the base of the neck. It measures 3/8 inch at the front, its widest area, and about 14 inches inside circumference.

Karen Smith, a contemporary American artisan, refers to herself as a "knotter of miniature tapestry adornments." She designs knotting patterns in washable nylon thread and integrates them with gemstones. This particular necklace is composed of a serpentine dragon carving with amethyst, turquoise, black onyx, jade and goldstone beads. It is hand signed Karen Smith '06 on the back. It is a remarkable and outstanding artwork! I measures 28" end to end (measured using the inside string of beads).

This grape design is sometimes called Moonlight Grapes. An early Georg Jensen design (1920s), it was updated slightly in 2010, including giving individual grapes more heft. There are three especially large ones at the top of the bunch. Designed by Harald Nielsen, it measures 1.5in wide x 2.75in long (4cm x 7cm). I bought it in 2000 and it’s in excellent condition, almost never worn.

Composed of linked hand-forged curved pieces with an A-shaped pendant decorated with applied sterling beads, this 1980s necklace has a strong presence.
