A pair of William Spratling sterling silver pierced earrings with large dangling fans or sails. These earrings were made in the 1980s.

They measure 1 1/2" across the widest part and 2 1/4" high including the post back. Marked on the back of each earring with the conjoined WS and Spratling 925 Taxco Mexico. They are also marked with TS24 indicating the later date. Post backs hold securely. In fine condition.

The top is quirkily decorated with pierced geometric shapes, and the cabochon amethyst and citrine are bezel-mounted off-center. The inside of the band is marked 925 for sterling. The ring is 1/16th inch thick; the top of the ring measures just over 1 inch across. It is just over a size 6 ½.

Robert Sorrell has only created seven of these necklaces, each hand made by him and each slightly different from the other. He calls this his "scarf". Aptly named since, like a cloth scarf, it is versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways--both ends in front, both ends in back, one in front and one over the shoulder, etc. Rhinestones are of the finest quality crystal and the craftsmanship is exquisite! This is a most unusual, modernist piece. The sunburst design is set with a snowflake obsidian stone (1" x 3/4" at longest and widest). The pendant itself measures 3" x 3". The chain is just over 30" long. The piece is done in heavy silverplate. The back is marked B + D (for Buch and Deichman) in its logo, JHULL and DENMARK.
