A charmer! This whimsical bug looks like he has a sense of humor. American designer Rick Shelley created him in pewter and colorful glass beads. The wings move slightly and look like mother of pearl. He is a large bug measuring 5" from front to back, 3 1/2" side to side and is approximately 2" high.

Dorothy Bauer's snow covered Cristmas tree pin has glistening tiny clear rhinestones at the ends of each branch, and, of course, a shimmering rhinestone star on the top. The base is round which enables it to stand up for display when not being worn. Signed Bauer on the back. 2 1/2" by 1 1/4.

This contemporary brooch by French designer Pavone is made of galalith (a plastic derived from skim milk!). The little cat just oozes sassy personality and begs to be taken home by a cat lover. He is three levels thick--head and paws front level, body second level, and tail the third level. Great design. 3 1/2" tall, 1 3/4" wide. Pavone signature on the back of the brooch.

As with all of Dorothy Bauer's rhinestone jewelry, the stones are Austrian crystal and are prong set. The frame is constructed and soldered by hand. California designer Bauer creates some pieces in LIMITED EDITIONS. This Christmas tree is one of them and this particular tree is 26/120 as is shown on the back of the pin. The Bauer cartouche is also displayed on the back. A white leather-like storage pouch and a collectors' record and description are included. The pin is 2 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide.

Features a piece of amber carved and polished in the shape of a blossom, surmounting a sterling silver stem with vines and leaves. A small bud is represented by an amber bead. The pin stem is marked 925, indicating a possible European origin or maker, as European makers usually marked the pin stems. The rollover clasp is in good working order. The pin measures 2 ¾ inches long by 5/8 inch wide at the blossom.

Composed of flattened, interwoven strips of sterling silver and set with an amber in a square bezel mount, this pin is a piece of quality workmanship and classic design. The back has a secure rollover clasp and bears a maker’s mark of Strazdins, attributed to Alvis Stradzins, a jeweler in Wilton, WI. The pin measures 2 1/8 inches long by 1 ½ inches wide.

This pin is a late 20th century rendition of a traditional Russian balalaika composed of sterling silver strings and fittings on a triangular piece of amber. The neck has a layer of what looks like pressed wood to serve as the fingerboard. There is a mark for sterling on the back of the frame and what are probably the maker’s initials of SP; the Polish mark for sterling, 1986 to the present, is on the pin stem...

Here is a well-made and nicely conceived silver pin by an unknown studio jeweler. The triangular base is impressed with a geometric pattern enhanced by oxidized surfaces of various metallic shades. A convex silver disk is mounted on the panel at a jaunty angle for contrast. The pin has a commercial rollover clasp in good working order. The back bears no mark except for a K in a triangle, most likely a maker's mark. It measures just under 2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high by 1/4 inch deep...

Lovely big statement flower form brooch hand made by Pono Italy in very finely made art plastic "moonglow" mother of pearl Lucite with variegated color in very pale blue with a glass bead and stitching in the center, and a leather back. Marked PONO. Nice size -- 2 7/8 inches in diameter. Excellent condition. The tiny red spot on the back is in the plastic. Photos enlarged to show detail.

A whimsical openwork pin formed as a running stylized reindeer. The back bears the mark of Navajo silversmith Joe Delgarito, of Sedona, Arizona. It has a secure rollover clasp and measures 2 ¾ inches long by just under 3 inches high, measured at the antlers. Weight: 11.2 grams

A whimsical and colorful sterling silver pin is formed as a bird with a sharp, upturned beak and fan-like tail. The enameled areas are well defined and retain their polished surface.
