Unusual vintage Japanese tea ceremony small chawan - a tea bowl - with pink outside. The piece was made at Shigaraki kilns - one of the six ancient kilns of Japan - and displays typical coarse body with large sand particles, freely applied pink slip with clearly visible traces of potter’s fingers. Very pleasant to hold, in excellent condition. Diameter 4.26 inches, height 2.54 inches.

The Newport or Hairpin pattern was made by Hazel Atlas during the 1930's. The color is amethyst, though Hazel Atlas called it 'Burgundy' in the original ads. This diminutive size display measures 4.25" x 3.25" closed and is in very nice condition. The top lifts up to facilitate advertisement of the product and would have been placed on the counter top of a pharmacy in this fashion. A neat find!

Four(4) Japanese Wooden Straw Mat or Tatami Mat Weaving Weights, Ca. 1930, 6 1/4" long, 1 1/2" diameter for various wood were used, and tied with Straw Rope, one(1) replaced with modern white Nylon rope, used for weaving for many years. The condition is worn and warm rounded patina on wood.

These beautiful juice tumbler were designed by Reuben Haley and produced by the Consolidated Glass Company in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Five fruits' and is one of Consolidated's scarce tableware lines. Approximately 4 inches tall, the color is green ceramic wash over crystal.
