Huge old Japanese doll, Showa period depicts a Bijin Geisha courtesan in a pose, performing traditional hat dance with six hats. Beautifully hand-painted silk face, wearing large hat, her hair adorned in front and sides with hair pins and hair ornaments. She is elaborately dressed in a gold brocade, red silk kimono, woven with flowers and leaves with a contrasting gold brocade, dark brown silk dangling obi, patterned with various woven Japanese samurai family’s crests (Mons)...

This is a Rikyu doll, one of the Hakata clay doll made in the Fukuoka, Japan. Rikyu (Sen Rikyu) is a 16th century influential tea master who perfected the Cha-no-yu, way of tea. He served two historically powerful figures, Nobunaga (Oda) and Hideyoshi (Toyotomi), and eventually being forced to commit Seppuku by Hideyoshi. Sen Rikyu is a given name by the Emperor. 10 inches tall.

This pretty depression glass crystal frosted Number 1008 Oleander, Willow or Magnolia Leaf Two-Handled Footed Comport or Mayonnaise with Ladle was made by Indiana Glass from the 1940s to the 1970s. This Comport measures 4 Inches high X 5 1/2 Inches in diameter without the handles. The ladle measures 5 Inches long. Pair of monumental sized Chinese coromandel type screens. Four panels each, for eight panels. Incised and polychrome lacquered decoration of immortals in heavenly palace-garden landscape. Good and serviceable condition. Vintage, probably about mid 20th century or earlier. Height, 8 feet high (about 244 cm). Width, each panel 16 inches wide (about 40.64 cm each panel).

Being offered is a circa 1955 sterling silver serving tray by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico. Serving tray featuring a heavy gauge handwrought silver rim with a hand carved wood center. Dimensions: 9 inches long by 7 inches wide by 1 inch high. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. A beautiful/handsome piece!

This ivory carving of ShouXin (God of longevity) accompanied by a young girl is a mid 20th century product. This ShouXin is 5 ½” high, 1 ½” wide and 1 ¼” thick; the young girl is 3” high, 1 ½” wide and 1” thick. The carved wood base with a pine tree design is 1” high, 4 ¼” wide and 2” thick. The carving depicts ShouXin carrying a long carved staff in his left hand; the other hand is holding a RuYi scepter...

This is a stunningly beautiful Hakata ningyo (doll) made by a Hakata ningyo artist. It is not one of the mass produced Hakata dolls. The softness of the colorings and detail in her kimono (in Kyoto Yuzen dye) did not fully come out in the photos. This doll was modeled after oiran, a courtesan from the Edo period, or we may simply call her Genroku bijin (a beautiful woman from Genroku era in Edo)...
