Impressive Mashiko iron glazed jar with impressed design by Sakuma Totaro (Japan, Mashiko, 1900-1976). Circa 1950s. In excellent original condition. 21cm high, 19cm across. Sakuma Totaro was one of the most important potters in Mashiko in the 20th century, as well as Shoji Hamada's friend and "partner in grime" (Robert Yellin).

Hakata doll was originated by a roof tile maker in the early 17C during the construction of Fukuoka castle. Hakata is located on the Kyushu island (southern island), famous to other porcelain makers such as Satsuma, Imari, Nabeshima and Hirado. This handsom groom is 7 1/2" tall and almost in mint condition. She is 8" tall in excellent condition with some minor stains on her right arm area as shown in one of the picture.

Cambridge Pistatio Sugar is in mint condition. Only have the sugar, no creamer. Color is pistatio, otherwise, known as vaseline glass, or, by our modern young collectors, uranium glass. It glows under a black light. It measures about 2" high and 4" across. It does have the triangles "C" logo on the bottom.

A set of four Birks sterling silver nut or mint dishes 1940s-50s. These 4 x 2-3/8" dishes weigh 81.4 grams, and they are in excellent original condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny dent in the upper lip of one dish, some very slight bends to the upper edge at one end on two dishes and some very shallow penpoint dents in the bottom of one dish (all are very minor and barely noticeable)...

Incredibly carved Chinese hard-stone seals, with ram finial. The height of the item is 2.75 inches, in great condition.

This pretty pink Double Rib and Panel 6 inch diameter Handled Basket was made by Heisey Glass. This Basket measures 8 1/2 inches high. It is signed the the H in Diamond on the bottom and is in very good condition with no cracks, scratches or cloudiness. There is one pin head size flea bite on the inner rim at the top of the basket. A pair of (typically) unmarked Majestic Japanned wood and brass table lamps c1950s. The black painted wood includes the 7 x 4-1/2" base with a crescent moon mounted on the brass upright with a brass ball separating it from the base. They stand 17-1/2" tall including the 12 x 6-1/2" shades, which are of fiberglass with plastic stringing on the borders and a wire cage for mounting on the lightbulb. They have their original cords with Leviton sockets with inspection stickers, and both lamps work...

This vintage educational Ophthalmology chart was published in 1956 by the Better Vision Institute of 630 5th Avenue, New York, to "promote better understanding of vision and better care of eyes".
