PAIR OF MOUNTED OLD CHINESE JADE CARVING PLAQUES, DATING TO THE REPUBLIC PERIOD

A fine pair of larger carvings of an old man and a boy with a bird and two boys in a garden. Finely made and mounted in a low grade silver metal mounts, so that they can be carried and used as ornaments. Both carved in a white/celadon jade.

Size: ca. 70 mm. long each and weighing 107 grams total.

From our World Handicrafts Collection (ex-Asia), a large and very fine Persian rug, hand-woven of wool and silk in a rich and elegant palette of deep red, dark and light blue, tan, mint green, pale orange, and cream.

Size and Condition: 10 feet and 4 inches long (124 inches), 7 feet and 8 inches wide (92 inches). There are some thread pulls and light general wear, but overall condition is excellent.

A nice set of three carvings in emerald of bears and an Owl Fetish, Native American, probably Zuni, Navaho tribe and 20th. century (3).

The carvings are cut and polished in one emerald stone in transperant light blue-green colours, very attractive small animals.

Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people...

Pair of 1950's Famille Rose Bowl with Figurines & Chirography "Dream of the Red Chamber" Marked

Each is 2.4 inches (6 cm) tall by 5.1 inches (13 cm) wide. The box is 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) tall by 11.8 inches (30 cm) wide by 6.2 inches (15.8 cm) long . Total weight is 164 gram. It is 1.7 lb including box.

They have dark spots and surface wears. One bowl has a hairline crack at the lip (as seen in the photos).

A chinese Blanc de Chine figure of Magu with a fawn at her side looking up at her. Magu is standing on a rocky base in flowing robes holding a ewer in both hands, the fawn supporting a basket of flowers on it's back. Impressed double marks on the upper back.

The double gourd mark reads "Dehua"

The square seal reads Puji Yuren...."the vastly accomplished fisherman", and is one that was used by the potter Su Xuejin (1869-1919)...
