Newer Japanese bridal hair ornaments with roses and chrysanthemums. The butterflies on the chrysanthemums are attached with springs and are pretty flimsy; there are crawling snails on the rose leaves. Beautifully detailed as you can see. Your hair may look little too busy if you are to wear these all at once unless you have a huge dimensional hairdo as they used to (or they still do for the special occasions) back in Japan...

Kashigata (wooden sweet mold) with double Kiku (chrysanthemum) motif, early 20th C., Japan. L.8.75"(22.5cm) x W.4.25"(10.5cm) x H.1.75"(4.5cm.) This mold has two chrysanthemum blossoms, a symbol of beauty and abundance in late fall and winter. On the side, the sweetmaker has written "an iri no natsume" (sweet red bean paste filled jujube) to indicate for which of type of sweet this mold was used...

A mid century 3 section Isho Biraki Tansu (Kimono chest with hinged doors) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Kaki (Persimmon) woods. All original bronze hardware. Top section features four sliding doors which open to a split lever shelf and two small drawers. Below this are 3 side by side drawers. The center section has two hinged doors that open to reveal 4 removable Kimono trays while the bottom section has two large drawers. An unframed old watercolor painting of tall trees in a Japanese forest, 19 1/2" by 13", signed at lower right by listed artist TOKUSABURO KOBAYASHI (1884-1949). There is old Japanese yellowed newspaper from THE HOCHI SHIMBUN used as cushioning between the watercolor paper and the old wood backing panel. Kobayashi was active in the first part of the century as a watercolorist. Frame with archival materials to enjoy this fine watercolor of a (cedar?) forest.

A very nice set of 12 French-style linen cocktail napkins with a delightful woven rooster pattern. This is an especially colorful set made from very high quality fabric. They would look especially good with a great rooster cocktail shaker or used for a cocktails on a patriotic holiday! Ten are in perfect condition, 2 have some staining. Circa 1940. Size: 5” x 8”.

The rimmed fruit /dessert/sauce bowls are 5 1/2" in diameter. They have pink roses, gray leaves and smooth rims with gold border.

There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs to this item. This item is in excellent condition.
