A nice pair of vintage c1900-20 copper patinated cast iron bookends in the form of Indian elephants. Measuring 5" long and standing 4" tall, these unsigned library or shelf decorations are in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some slight surface rusting on the base of one and some minor casting flaws on the other (each has a few small paint flecks)...

Japanese 20th century porcelain vase by Japan Living National Treasure, Tokuda Yasokichi III, born Tokuda Masahiko in Komatsu, Japan. The vase is done in a globular form on the bottom, cylindrical shape in the middle with a flared top. The overall glaze is a dark eggplant color with blue, yellow and green coloration on the top. Tokuda Yasokichi III became Living National Treasure in 1997 and is recognized for work with Saiyu, glaze color gradation technique...

The finest servant dolls, Shitei (Shittei,Shicho,Shiccho) from Kyoto, Japan. They are the court servants from Heian Imperial Court and part of Hina dolls displayed for the Girls Day (Hina Matsuri Festival) in Japan. Some damages in the toes of one doll and clothing. The tallest doll is 8 inches tall.

Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the cup & saucer set in amethyst. The color is a ceramic wash applied over crystal glass. Excellent condition, I have 5 sets available, price is per cup & saucer set. A set of Japanese tsuge (boxwood) combs in delicate hand-cut design, ca 1950, never been used. The combs made out of tsuge wood has been known to be gentle on the hair and scalp without causing static. They were treasured by the women and men for many, many centuries. For maintenance of the combs, camellia (tsubaki) oil has been used (but good vegetable oil should work as well?). The color of tsuge deepens as they were used from natural oil from our hair and the camellia oil...

This Towle sterling napkin ring is 1 7/8" high and 1 1/4" in diameter. It is marked sterling on the inside along with the Towle logo and the number 8680. The beaded edge makes the napkin ring very attractive. The ring is engraved "Frances C. Tyler" .

This is a charming baby carrier from Guang Xi which is similiar in shape to those carriers from Rao Jia region. It is made of hand-loomed cotton fabric which is hand stitched and hand embroidered with butterflies and flowers using both cotton and silk thread. The sculptural shape makes a very pleasing wall hanging. The condition of this carrier is very good.

This apron would be worn for festival by young woman, recently married and hoping to become pregnant or in the early stage of pregnancy. After the baby is born, the straps will be relocated so that the apron is converted to a baby carrier. The coin bottom border is show hope for good fortune for the baby. The 3 tassles on the end of the apron straps are show hope for eventually having 3 children. The butterfly is considered the mother of the Miao people.

This is a very finely embroidered baby carrier from LiPing region. Threads of green and purple silk are used in satin embroidery stitches which are so heavy and so finely done that they almost totally cover the hand-loomed fabric. Additional decorative elements include border areas banded with tiny triangular folded fabric and hand-loomed bands.The upper portion of the carrier would be used to protect the baby's head from the elements...

Exquisite miniature music instruments in a small doll size, made out of bones (ivory like). They are more elaborate than shown in the photos. Dimensions of the box are 5 5/8” x 3 7/8” x 1 1/8”. Circa, Taisho to early Show period, 1920 to 1940.

Japanese wedding gown with a pair of oshidori (Mandarin ducks), flowers and maple leaves in the background colors of red and gold. This is a newer gown in very pretty cheerful colors and it's in excellent condition like new.
