Two Hanging Scrolls of Cloud-Clad Verdant Mountains by Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) 60½ X 16¼ inches 153.67 X 41.3 cm Ink & Color on Paper Each inscribed & signed with three artist seals. Each bears a connoisseur seal impression of Xu Bojiao, famous Hong Kong-based connoisseur and exclusive agent of Zhang's artwork from 1949 onward. These are from a New York collection.

Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print depicting an alert dog lying in rest set against a lacquered patterned background titled "Dachshund (A)" by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997). Signed in white ink and with the artist's red seal at the lower right. Circa 1950s. Unlimited edition. Paper size: 11 1/2" x 17 1/4” (image size: 10 3/16" x 15 1/8”). Very good overall condition. There are three small areas of tape residue on the back upper edge at the center and corners.

Here we exhibite one of the best Cloisonne and 24k gold Kwan Yin Statues in the world - premium and museum quality.

This Kwan Yin with the hand position "Apan mudra" is made of heavy bronze, finest Cloisonné and finished with 24k gold, melted over some parts of the figure with high temperature inside a kiln.

It was made by a master of craftsmanship as you can see in the pictures...

Chinese carved coral scene of two beautiful young shepherdesses with their sheep, one stands with her back against a tall pine tree and blows her whistle, the other feeds the little sheep from a cylindrical container, another sheep and a little lamb frolic nearby, beautifully carved with great detail, mid 20th century. Size with stand: 7 1/2" high. Height of coral only: 6 3/4" high.

Charming stylized rabbit by the master Archimede Seguso. Nicely shaded in gold dust and brown glass using the Sfumati technique. Measuring 2"w x 3.5"d x3.5"h., the rabbit is in perfect condition and bears a portion of the Seguso red and gold scalloped edge label.

An Old 20th C. Chinese scholar ink stick. In very good condition. It weights 119g. L: 5-3/4" x W:1-1/2" x T: 1/2"

Orrefors Vase signed Edward Hald -- Beautiful Graal fish vase measuring 5 1/2" tall x 4" wide at the widest point. Signed Graal, Sweden, Number 1860K, Edward Hald. This vase is in perfect condition. Any marks on it is caused by the flash.

- A rarely seen design.

This inlayed Chinese ebony brush holder is 7” high and 6 ½” in diameter. It depicts a Shou Lao (god of longevity) holding a cane; a young boy carrying a flower basket stands behind him. Another young boy wearing a red robe is leading a deer cart filled with flowers and plants and walks in front of Shou Lao and his companion. The inlayed materials are dyed coral, mother of pearl, lacquer and hard stone. It is a 1950’s product. Aside from small age cracks, it is in great condition.

Sumptuous sculpted sommerso bowl in ever so soft hues of teal and amber glass. My guess is that this is a Flavio Poli design due to the purity of form and soft hues of color. Obviously inspired by the nature of the Venetian Lagoon, this piece resembles a birds eye view of the island of Murano and its surrounding Lagoon. The base of the bowl was protected over the years by three felt pads added to the bottom, so the piece is in great condition. It measures 9.5"w x 3"h, unmarked.

An iconic square bottle by one of the most important Japanese artists, Kawai Kanjiro, enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The fawn spotted white glaze is decorated with Gosu floral patterns in blue and red with a rich iron red at the mouth, the raw clay revealed at the base. It is 12 x 12 x 18 cm tall (roughly 5 x 5 x 7 inches) and in excellent condition dating likely from the height of his career, 1940s-50s...

Very beautiful Kinsai Iroe Shino ware tea bowl, signed and inclosed in its original wooden box. It was made about 60 years ago and it is decorated with a shiny gold leaf design and images of grass and plum trees.

The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Signature on base.

A superbly well balanced Kuro Raku Chawan made by one of the few masters of this genre, Ogawa Choraku (1912-1991), second heir to the Choraku lineage of Raku potters.

The founder of the Choraku lineage studied under Keinyu (11th Raku) and Konyu (12th Raku) of the Raku Kichizaemon family, and in 1904 with the support of Konyu, founded his own kiln in Kyoto. He received the name Choraku in 1906 by Choyuken, the head of a very influential tea ceremony association...

This white and pink carved coral piece was made around 1960. The artist used the natural coral shape to create two dragons. It is 5 ¼ inches tall and 6 ½ inches at the widest part. Though the subject is common, the carving and polish are very well done. It is in great condition.

Exceptional bowl form with scrolled rim by Ercole Barovier. It is in excellent condition, no damage, unmarked. 11"w x 5"h x 5.5"d. Available at a reduced rate if purchased with the group at item 073. They belong together.

A sterling silver vermouth dispenser in the form of a watering can by Cartier. When tipped, the dispenses sprinkles a drip or two of vermouth into the glass for the perfect martini. The bottom is marked “Cartier Sterling.” These cans were made specifically for Cartier’s New York store.

Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: very good, a very minor ding on the bottom rim and on the spill guard at the top. Dimensions: 3” tall. Weight: 51.2 gr.

Japanese woodblock print of the Yasaka pagoda in Kyoto by Toshijiro Inagaki (1902-1963) depicting, almost exclusively in shades of blue, the pagoda and surrounding houses with water and hills in the distance. The blue is relieved by a few touches of red and yellow. The artist’s seal is in the lower left corner. This design is from the 1950’s but it is not numbered so may be from a later edition...

This large traditional Suriname Maroon wood comb has identical carvings on both sides and would have been worn for ceremonies. The Suriname Maroons were originally sub Saharan African slaves that were brought to and escaped from the Caribbean plantations. They fled to the hills where they established their own villages far beyond the the Spanish "authorities"who then ruled the Caribbean Islands at the time. The comb is 14.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches at the widest...

Slightly distorted Japanese Chawan of light brown Mino clay coated with white and brown glaze, made around 1950. Fantastic wabi-sabi aura with intended imperfections. A true beauty for the tea ceremony.

A fascinating letter composed by the noted Chinese artist, Xu Beihong (1895-1953). The letter is addressed to a Mr. Fu Wen and discusses about an exhibition and several works of art that Xu Beihong was expressing his congratulations to the person he was writing to. Raised, undulating ridges on a field of cobalt blue highlighted with white slip and bronze flecks around the rim, this piece conjures images of the deep and stormy sea or possibly of the vast swirling cosmos. Conceived by 20th century master Kawai Kanjiro (1890 - 1966), the combination of “gosu” and “doro hakeme” used in the creation of this work is one of his most sought after motifs.
