The Caprice pattern was produced by Cambridge Glass Company from 1940 through 1957 when they closed. This 11", 4-footed platter is in excellent condition.

Solid wooden folk art carving of a giant penis. Strapped around it are red and white twisted cotton cords (imenawash) with paper strips (gohei). Penises of this size were donated to Shinto shrines dedicated to fertility, in the hopes of getting pregnant. Or they were carried around during fertility festivals.

Beautiful black Japanese wedding (Uchikake) in new condition, basting stiches still intact along the sleeves and other areas. The design is from the Heian Era (794-1192AD), imperial cart in pine trees. The gown is particularly well made and look better than our old photos. The colors are beautiful (no color loss), vivid yet elegant.

This beautiful contemporary Ningyo is by an important artist, Nishikitsuka Moeharu. His Kimikomi style of work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums, including the Homma Museum in Japan. She is holding peach sprays. Carved of wood with applied silks brocades. She has a sensitively rendered face with carved lacquered hair adorned with a gold hair ornament. 9 inches (23cm) high. Base: 10.5 x 8.25 inches, 27 x 21 cm.

Traditional sterling silver tray. Made by Stieff in Baltimore in 1956. Round and plain well and flat rim. Shoulder tapering with repousse floral garland on stippled ground. A nice piece in a regional style. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date letter, no. 200, and phrase “Hand Chased”. Very good condition.

Beautifully hand-painted silk face, wearing large hat, her hair adorned in front and sides with hair pins and hair ornaments. This is a stunningly beautiful Hakata ningyo (doll) made by a Hakata ningyo artist. It is not one of the mass produced Hakata dolls. The softness of the colorings and detail in her kimono (in Kyoto Yuzen dye) did not fully come out in the photos. This doll was modeled after oiran, a courtesan from the Edo period, or we may simply call her Genroku bijin (a beautiful woman from Genroku era in Edo)...

Japanese Bizen Pottery Cup Stand in signed original wooden box, 1 7/8" high, 2 1/2" diameter-top rim, 1"-bottom rim, written numbers inside the cup on the side, with signed original box, the condition is good, no damage.

Iris & Herringbone was originally made by Jeannette Glass Company from 1928 to 32 during the depression. The pattern proved so popular that in the 1950's, they reissued it in the marigold iridescent color. Pictured here is the 4 1/2 inch beaded edge berry bowl in excellent condition. This Chinese ivory carving of a mountain scene is a mid 20th century product. It is 5 1/8” high (with carved wood base is 6 ¼” high), 2” wide and 1 ½” thick. It depicts a village scene on a mountain. It starts from a boat in a river. Going up the trail, people are riding a buffalo or horse, sitting in a sedan chair or just walking. There are houses, booths, a pagoda and pine trees along the trail. It is in very good condition.
