Korean folk art carved wood figure. Bearded man in traditional attire. Holding a pipe in left hand, the right hand positioned to hold a staff and pierced for that purpose (staff missing.) Good condition save a couple chips along the brim of the hat. Height 8 1/2 inches (21.59 cm)
A small Chinese inkstone carved from a Duan like stone. The inkstone is carved to portray a landscape view with the basin area of the stone to form a pond or lake. Often Chinese inkstones will allude to literary themes for scholars to enjoy.

This porcelain dish was produced in Denmark by Bing and Grondahl around 1950. The inventory number is 1167. It measures 7 1/2 inches long, 6 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The porcelain is quite substantial. The dish is molded in high relief with an art nouveau inspired design of stylized leaves and flowers. The color pallet is shades of blue, violet and brown. This belt would have been worn for festival gatherings. Decorated with beads, cowrie shells and central turquoise medallion the belt strap is narrow approx 1.25 inched wide. Hanging from the belt are beaded strands in graduated lengths with each strand ending with a cowrie shell. There is a cord tie attached so that the belt can be tied at the back of the wearer. It is a lovely piece
This Chinese hair comb was hand carved from a beautifully "grained" translucent animal horn.
Obtained from an ethnic minority person, the pair of ducks carved into the handle were commonly used by mainstream Han Chinese as a symbol of a long and happy marriage. Items with this symbol would often be gifted for an anniversary.

Semi-eggshell thin cup and saucer by Imura, Japan, c 1920. Decoration in black, gilt and orange-red of fans in the Kutani style. Signed Nihon (Japan) Yokohama Imura Tsukuru. Height of cup "2¼/ 6 cm, and diameter of saucer "4¾/ 12 cm. Condition: a glaze bubble under the enameled decoration. Saucer with a small nick to the rim (cf. photo).
