A fantastic maki-e vase by greatest Heian Zohiko Nishimura Hikobei VIII in great condition. It was made around 1950. An alloyed copper inner tray is also included.

Hikobei VIII(1886~1965) delved heavily into laquerware technology, creating a vast array of well-known works from the end of the Meiji period through the early Showa period.

His works were featured in world expositions as well as in national industrial fairs, winning prizes along the way...

Wooden okimono of a grinning skull by contemporary carver Brad Blakely (American, b. 1951). The piece represents a Nevadan Lovelock Cave Giant’s Skull, c. 1,000 A.D. Superbly quality carving, exquisite execution of details and textures, beautiful staining. Mountain mahogany & 14K gold reserve with the initial of the carver. Length 2.17 inches.

This really pretty Forest Green Charm square Cup and Saucer Set was made by Anchor Hocking from the 1940s to the 1960s. The Cup measures 3 5/8" in across. The Saucer measures 5 3/8" in diameter. This is a really pretty pair of elegant glass crystal Hobnail Salt and Pepper Shakers with chrome lids made by Duncan and Miller Glass. These shakers each measure 2 3/4 inches high. The glass shakers are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The original metal chrome lids show slight wear, but are good and work freely. Super stylish Art Deco sterling silver compote. Round bowl with flared rim and curved and tapering sides. Ovoid support with Bakelite band to round foot with same. Visible hand hammering with nice shimmer. Italian marks (1934-44) including unidentified Roman maker’s stamp (14 Roma) and Milan retailer’s stamp (Fratelli Veneziani). Good condition. Bakelite crack on foot.
