Measuring 13 1/2 x 19 1/4 inches this textile from Maqur district in Ghazni province is embroidered in silk thread on a fine linen background. The textile was intended to be made into a man or a woman's shirt. There is only one small brown stain, otherwise its condition is nearly perfect. Estimated age: mid 20th century. The embroidery technique is an extremely detailed ladder stitch.
Lovely little Inaba white cloisonne box with a silver finish. The lid features flowers in a rocky garden setting and inside the box is engraved with flowers. Marked with Inaba logo on base bottom, it is also maked inside with the logo and the words "Made in Japan". In excellent condition, it measures 3.5 by 3 inches, and 1.5" high. Dates mid 20th C.
Small bottle-shape vase by Dean Mullavey (Canadian, born in New Hampshire, USA, in 1927), in excellent condition. This small stoneware bottle measures 4 1/4" in height. Incised signature and chop. It was created around 1960-1961 while the artist was a member of the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY (all information courtesy of the artist). From a North Carolina estate. One of four early works by this artist currently available.

Japanese Porcelain Umbrella Jar or Stand, 24" high, 9 1/2" diameter, beautifully decorated over glaze enamel of flowering branches and Phoenix Bird in the colorful floral background. The condition is good no damages. The dark line inside the stand is glaze ran down from the top rim, not crack.
Small pink rock crystal teapot. It is carved with 5 dragons cut with a grinding wheel in high relief. One of them serves as a handle, another as a pouring spout and a third as a gripping fretel. The last two are flanked on either side of the teapot. The 5 dragons have a strong cultural significance in Chinese art. Wooden base, finely crafted with stylized dragons.
