This is an accurate model of an outrigger canoe from the Ellice Islands, now the island nation of Tuvalva. The v-shaped hull is made of an upper and lower sections,sewn together with string of plant fiber and forming a notched prow which provides stability in ocean waves. There is fishing platform, complete with net, fishing fly and weight, a bailer, 2 paddles and 2 masts. Only the sails are missing.

A nicely enameled Japanese cloisonne box with a raised design (moriage) of Mandarin ducks. This box dates from the 1960s to the 1980s and was probably made by the Inaba Company of Kyoto, Japan. The mark at the bottom is not the maker’s mark; it is probably the mark of the retail or outlet store. The dimensions are 5 1/2 inches x 4 inches x 1 1/2 (a bit shorter) inches.

These Cambridge Glass Company/ Morgantown glass Works cocktail in chrome holders came in Amber,emerald,amethyst, and other colors.

There are not Farber Bros. They are Farberware and from the 1950's.

The Japanese hakama is pleated skirt-like pants that is worn over a full length kimono. Hakama pants originated as an outer garment to protect a samurai warrior’s legs from brush when riding a horse. Healthy Japanese babies adorn this bright red juban. Made of light weight silk with equally light weight white silk lining, this woman's juban measures 48" across the shoulders (including sleeves) and 50" long. In very good condition, it dates early Showa, 1930, though the collar appears to be newer. This is a very cheerful under garment and would be a fun piece to wear as an outer garment.

Made with a stencil pattern and gold surihaku this small child's kimono is in excellent condition. It measures 31½"across the shoulders (including sleeves) and 34"long. It is very soft silk and dates to early Showa, mid 1930s.

The front half of the bootee is horizontally ribbed and has two small flowers below the opening,. The rest is covered with a small diamond pattern except for a strip of ribbing in the back. The sole is completely hollow. It is 4 1/8" long and 2 1/4" high. Circa 1900.

Cambridge Glass Co. made Firenze from 1937-40's. This is a 10" 5 part relish. It is the #212 celery or relish from the Pristine line. It's in great shape. Thanks for looking.

The top of the boxer's left ear has a paint scrape- very small. He is 11 inches long and 5 3/4" tall.

Man's soft grey silk under kimono with a painted image of Daruma, the Japanese God of Wishes. Two large coins using the shibori technique cross over onto the sleeves. Two pale peach washes are painted across the image area as well as swashes of small metallic gold flecks using the surihaku technique. This is a very soft, light-weight gray silk with a bright green raw silk lining. Dating to 1930s and in excellent condition, this garment measures approximately 51” across and 54” long.

It has the original box with a pamphlet issued by the Ando Cloisonne Company, the leading cloisonné company in Japan. The note briefly introduces the company, how their cloisonné are made (with photos) and a photo of the very famous enameled mirror discovered in *Shoso-in.

Stevens & Williams Vaseline Opalescent Epergne stands 13" tall, made in the 1880's! The base is 8" wide. Has a couple of very small bubbles within the bowl. Otherwise, it has no chips or scratches.
