A pair of 1950's French egg cups. Marbled glaze in green and red on white and sweep shape to one side of the border. One cup with impressed mark "Vallauris". Height "2¼/ 6 cm. Condition: fine.

The embroidery technique on this textile features couched metallic threads forming an intricate combination of linear and circular designs, so densely arranged as to almost completely obscure the dark purple silk ground...

Being offered is an exceedingly rare hand-wrought circa 1955 sterling silver bowl by Los Castillo of Taxco, Mexico. Silver fluted shaped bowl comprising of copper inlaid fish at the center; three applied amethyst frogs mounted to the rim, all on 3 bun feet. Dimensions: 10 1/4 inches diameter by 2 inches tall. No monogram. Marked as illustrated on the photo. In excellent condition. Great heavy weight 28 ozs.

Saye qosha is an Uzbek textile used to decorate piles of quilts when they are stored during the day. Two rectangles of cotton solidly embroidered in cross stitch with multi-colored hooked motifs, sewn together to make a V-shape. Fringes along the bottom in alternating green, bergundy, yellow, red, purple, and white. In their colors and repetition, these motifs are typical of the embroideries of Tajikistan and Sukhanderia in southern Uzbekistan...

Traditional German gilt sterling silver stirrup cup, ca 1950. Conical bowl mounted with cast stag head—a furry, gaping beast with flexed-back ears and big antlers. Marked. Very good condition with nice toning.

A large silk painting of a scene from the history of Japan by Kai Seihyo (1882-1974), one of Japan's noted painters specializing in historical subjects. Kai Seihyo was trained at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts. It was later in Seihyo's life where the artist began producing unique historical subjects and received high acclaim where Seihyo was known for his paintings of samurai and horses. Large three-legged stoneware dish of asymmetrical shape with a carved and enameled non-figural motif in yellow, blue, red and green on white. The three legs articulated in white against a black background. 1950's, unsigned, in the style of Kostanda, Rivier, Fidler or Derval. Width "12/ 30 cm, height "2¾/ 7 cm. Condition: two of the legs restuck (cf. last photo).

Measuring 10¾ inches x 16 inches, this child's dress front is from Jaghori in Ghazni province. Estimated age is mid 20th century. The embroidery is amazingly precise, fine cross stitch in silk thread, while the back is a pink printed fabric probably from Russia. The edges are adorned with metallic Bokhara couching and a gold braid that frames the overall design. The bottom tabs depict rosettes in silk floss in satin stitch on white cotton...

Six 17th century style sterling silver coffee spoons in the original velvet and satin lined box. The finials are in the shape of globe artichokes. Each spoon is fully hallmarked for London, 1946. Both the spoons and the box are in mint condition. Spoons 4" long.

This really pretty crystal elegant glass Prelude 6 inch high X 5 1/4 inch diameter Swan bowl was made by New Martinsville Glass from 1936 to 1939. The Swan has a Sterling base. The base is signed Sterling - see picture. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The sterling base does need cleaned, but it is in very good condition.
