Measuring 33 x 39 cm, this vintage Hazara child's vest from Afghanistan is from the 1960s. The embroidery is extremely fine straight stitch and long and short stitch in wool thread on a light brown linen ground, depicting geometric motifs in vibrant color. Condition: Excellent, no stains, no holes, no odors. The Hazara are the third largest ethnic group of Afghanistan...

A lovely Christmas bouquet paperweight by Perthshire. The weight features a colorful bouquet of holly leaves, a red poinsettia and mistletoe surrounded by ring of red, white and green complex canes, all against an opaque snow white ground. The base is embedded with a signature/date cane. The paperweight is finished with 5/1 faceting.

Origin: Scotland, 1996. Condition: excellent, no roughnesses. Dimensions: 3" diameter; 2" high.

Tibetan Himalayan Shigatze Wool Rug with two(2) Dragons chasing Flame in cream color 100% wool on cotton backing, bordered with wide floral branches in the separate Cartouches, thick heavy weight, 72"(6') x 36"(3'), owner purchased in Shigatze in Tibet around 1980. This is a really great depression era Amber Coin Electric Coach Lamp made by Fostoria Glass. The Lamp works. It measures 13 1/2 inches high to top of Globe when together. The Lamp base measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter. The metal parts are all very good. The wiring is good. Both the Lamp base and Globe are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. This is a really pretty pair of milk glass white Wild Rose and Bowknot Salt and Pepper Shakers made by Fenton Glass. These shakers measure 4 inches high to top of lids. Japanese Brown Stoneware Tokkuri, Sake Bottle, 1980, heavily potted stoneware and Black splash design on one side, small flake chips around the top rim.

A woven wool sash from Tibet, circa mid to late 20th century. Measuring 15.3 x 300 cm including the fringes, it is in overall good condition, but with some fraying. These sashes are used by Tibetans to tie their traditional attire (chuba for women, lokpa for men) and also to secure knives, bundles etc. Enlargement #6 shows the use of these sashes in traditional Tibetan nomadic culture (© 1995 East of Lo Manthang by Peter Matthiessen and Thomas Laird).

Made using hid with shell decoration this girls pubic protector would have been worn by a young girl of the African pygmy Kalahari Bushman tribe...an interesting ethnographic artifact and can easily be framed for display
