A German majolica lidded pot or box by the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur in Karlsruhe, c 1930's. Of cylindrical shape, the glaze light green, the lid with a crackled finish, and decoration of a rearing horse. Relief moulded mark and model number 4083. Diameter of lid "4/ 10 cm, height including lid "2 1/4/ 5,5 cm. Condition: small glaze flake to inner rim of lid.

These beautiful goblets were designed by Reuben Haley and produced by the Consolidated Glass Company in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Five fruits' and is one of Consolidated's scarce tableware lines. These goblets hold 9 oz and are approximately 5 inches tall. The color is green ceramic wash over crystal. A small beaker vase by Danish designer Just Andersen (1884-1943). Of flaring form, the simplicity of the shape accentuated by stripes near mouth and foot-rim. Marks: Just, GAB (a Swedish company for which Just Andersen worked from c 1930), model number 1162 and 1931 for the year. Height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.

This charming primer was published in 1933, and used throughout Japan for 2nd year students...some pages have a few hand written English translations. At the time when this book was used, Japanese kenji and Chinese calligraphy characters were very similar...over 100 pages many with artwork
This hair comb and kogai hair pin set is probably from the Taisho to early Showa period, 1920 to 1945. Tortoiseshell. There is an artist signature on the hair pin. Please wear this with a half of signature on each side for better fitting -- see enlargement6. Other than that, it is in good condition.
This type of tissue holder is called Hakoseko. They are still being used for very special ceremonial occasions. The older one in this quality is now a collecter's item.
Hakoseko will be placed between a kimono and an obi sash with the chains dangling from the chest area. Circa, early to mid 1900s. Dimensions: 4 1/2" x 2 3/4"
An elegant ceramic obidome (obi clasp) with silver mount (guaranteed) formed as a leaf, glazed in mottled tones of red and blue, with a hand woven silk cord dyed in the same colors; all contained in original box from Matsumasa, Kyoto. Taisho/early Showa period.
The actual colors are gentle; red in blue/purple tint with a soft blue color. What did not show in the photos are the exact matching colors of the ceramic leaf and silk cord...
