Extremely rare sleek & elegant pair of hand wrought sterling silver candlesticks designed and signed c. 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist designer Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). Each stick measures 8 1/4" high with a 2 3/4" base. The pair weighs 612 grams or 1 1/2 lbs. Exquisite condition. Each stick hallmarked on base. Antonio designs are included in the permanent 20th century Mexican silver collection at Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
An amusing tonkotsu, a container for tobacco, skillfully carved in wood as a man emerging from a basket! His clasped hands pierced to allow a suspension cord, not present. The eyes are inlaid and the base has a mother of pearl signature tablet.

Being offered is an exceptional and super rare circa 1960 sterling silver candelabra by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico. Silver and wood two arm candelabra with a silver center bowl for another candle or flowers etc; inset silver half circular disks below the bowl. Dimensions: 10 inches long by 4 1/4 inches tall by 4 3/4 inches wide. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. A rare find!

Hongshan Pig Dragon Cicada standing toggle in Nephrite Jade with tremolite with biconically drilled suspension holes. The view from the wearer is somewhat phallic in nature. Size L 3.2" by 1.5" collected HK 1980-1995
Measuring 56 x 88 cm, this horse headcover was hand-embroidered by Uzbeks of the Lakai tribe, well-known for their horsemanship. Each of the embroidered panels feature solar and horned designs, executed in Bukhara couching on red wool flannel, fringed with beaded silk tassels ending in small white beads, a typical feature in Central Asian embroidery. Condition is good but with a few small holes. Estimated age: mid 20th century.

This powerful, well rendered and heavy work stands appx. 19" tall.

This is an old tobacco pouch from Indus Kohistan, a remote area of northern Pakistan located along the Indus river. Cotton embroidered with silk thread, depicting interlocking rhomboids on one face, repeating chevrons on the other, and embellished with beadwork on the edges. The embroidery technique is exceptionally fine brick stitch, closely paralleled in Hazara embroidery...
