Elegant Art Deco sterling silver and jeweled cigarette case made by Georg Jensen, Copenhagen, 1925-1932 comprising a rectangular shape, the cover set with a row of five sparkling diamonds and a cabochon sapphire, a cabachon sapphire clasp, gilt interior hallmarked with Jensen crown, 900, 3 1/2" x 2 1/4", 3.41 oz. Condition is excellent, minor surface scratches.

A rare and very finely decorated Chinese porcelain vase depicting a flowering peony shrub painted with fencai/famille rose enamels.

On the base is the iron red four character mark "Shen de tang zhi" -the "Hall for the Cultivation of Virtue" which was located in the Old Summer Palace, the Yuanmingyuan, which was destroyed by European troops in 1860. A small "garlic necked" vase attractively painted with fencai enamels in 18th Century style depicting mountains and pavillions in a river landscape. The base carries a four character iron red hall mark. This item was probably made circa 1920 - 1940 during the Republic period. Condition - there is a tiny chip to the rim with associated 2cm hairline. No further damages and no restoration...

Twelve inch tall Libbey milk pitcher as shown in the 1930 - 32 Libbey Nash catalog as shape K - 527. The 32 ounce capacity pitcher is decorated hooked rose threading and has a plain applied strap handle. The pitcher is signed with the Libbey circle on the polished pontil.

A truly extraordinary print of the streets of Tokyo by Japanese Shin-Hanga artist Tsuchiya Koitsu circa August of 1939. Two women, both wearing beautiful blue kimonos, walk in the rain holding parasols. The streets are colored a purple/mauve as the rainwater reflects the light of lanterns from inside of a nearby shop, trees rise above buildings, and despite the depicted weather conditions, this is a very colorful scene. A large shiwan (shekwan) sculpture of an Aesthetic riding a pomegranate red foo lion. The glaze is thick and glass-like with a natural crackle that only comes from age. The clay’s color and some ash residue (a good thing) indicate that this piece was fired in a dragon kiln about 5 - 15 miles upstream from Foshan. The Immortal’s robes are glazed with a rich translucent celadon color. There are two peaches at his side and he is holding a single peach in his upright hand...

A simple and rustic painting of a group of bamboo done in sumi on silk by the abbot of Sentsuji, Butsugai. The inscription on the top is providing a metaphorical allusion of enduring suffering with the flexible nature of the bamboo.

A set of four large scrolls depicting seasonal landscapes by Shirakura Niho enclosed in the original signed double wood box exhibited at the 1936 Nangain-Ten and published in the book Shirakura Niho (page 127 figures 102-107). Ink & Light color on Paper in fine silk mountings, they have been completely cleaned and restored to original perfect condition retaining the original cloth by Kitaoka Hyboido of Kyoto. Each scroll is 66 x 138.5 cm (26 x 54-1/2 inches)...

This 1920~1930 carved glass snuff bottle is 3” high, 2 1/8” wide and 1 1/8” thick. Stylized lion heads have been carved on either side of the ovoid bottle. The green hard stone cap and spoon are new replacements. Aside from some surface wearing and one tiny chip on its rim, it is in great condition.

Each spoon is worked in a different shade of translucent enamel over an engraved background. The spoons are presented in their original velvet-lined box. Each spoon is hallmarked for the Watson Co.

A set of six sterling silver coffee spoons by Asprey & Co. Each spoon has a brownish-black bakelite “coffee bean”—a decorative device popular in England during the Art Deco period.
