A very unusual modern Japanese pottery vase. Exaggerated chatter decoration spiraling from the foot to the shoulder, the tacky clay lifted to a very coarse texture before firing. The neck to rim, also spiraling up the vase, finished smoothly. Apparently in the tradition of the stoneware tile work kilns of Bizen and Tokoname. Studio artist marks in impressed cartouches on the foot. Excellent condition. Height, 8 inches.

Japanese pottery tsubo vase. An earthy, drab gray-green glaze on porcelaneous body with thin iron wash and with bold, rich red iron oxide glaze painted floral decoration on opposing sides of the tsubo form with thickly potted shoulder rising to a broad, everted rim. Two character impressed artist's mark inside the foot appears to read Kazan ('Ka' being the 10 stroke character also read as "hana".) A pleasant, substantial feel when held. Excellent condition. Melusina or Melusine is a heroine in medieval European folklore. This figurine is a modernist version of her transformation into an often two-tailed mermaid or fish. Unglazed stoneware and gilt hairstyle. Little is known about Y-Keramik other than the workshop was situated in former Western Germany and that the gilding was made of 24 karat gold, this information available on paper labels on other Y-Keramik figures from the 1970's. Impressed potter’s mark “ilba” to the back...

This is one of the Steuben animals that I have never seen before. Measuring 5" high, he was introduced in 1974, and I don't know when he was discontinued, but I know he isn't available anymore. He is in perfect condition. It is Steuben number 8293.

This porcelain group was produced in Denmark by Royal Copenhagen between 1969 and 1974. The model number is 1107. They measure 6 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide. They are signed by the renowned modeler, Knud Kyhn. This rowdy pair of cubs are full of action playing. This artist was able to capture the moment in lively motion. They are hand painted in the typical Royal Copenhagen pallet of colors. Condition: Excellent first quality.

A finely sculpted bust of a young man with exceptional patina of finely blended earth and bronze pigments. Physical condition is superb, but a small amount of finish has worn around the left eye and on the top of the head exposing a green substrate, yet harmonious with the earthen finish. A lovely Christmas bouquet paperweight by Perthshire. The weight features a colorful bouquet of holly leaves, a red poinsettia and mistletoe surrounded by ring of red, white and green complex canes, all against an opaque snow white ground. The base is embedded with a signature/date cane. The paperweight is finished with 5/1 faceting.

Origin: Scotland, 1996. Condition: excellent, no roughnesses. Dimensions: 3" diameter; 2" high.

Chrysanthemum Fan Painting by Jeon Yeong Suk aka Yeo Cheong (1960 - ). The chrysanthemum's many petals is an ancient symbol of an abundant life or fertility. 21 x 6.5 inches, 53.5 x 16.5 cm. This, along with our Stock Numbers 1318 and 1320, is part of a set of three fan flower paintings by Jeon Yeong Suk.

Offered is this beautiful Dale Chihuly three-piece sea-form 'Persian' set (not sure if it is a stand-alone set or part of a bigger set). Polished pontils on very light glass. The biggest piece is 10 1/2 inches long. Except for a minor chip (see last picture), the set is in great condition. Unsigned (if it was part of a bigger set, perhaps, one piece of the set, the largest, was signed, as is/was typical of Chihuly).
