This is a really nice, hard to find, French Ivory Laurel 9 1/4 inches wide X 6 3/4 inches across X 2 inches high Oval Serving or Vegetable Bowl made by McKee Glass in the 1930s. Large Artist's Proof of Munjado Calligraphy by the Famous Kim Ki Chang aka Unbo (1913 - 2001). Despite being deaf, Unbo was one of Korea's most beloved 20th Century artists. His works are now sought by museums and collectors internationally. This is the original signed AP (Artist's Proof) of this large lithograph, where Unbo gives us a most creative rendering with anthropomorphic figures in the ancient style of figurative munjado calligraphy. 38.5 x 28.5 inches, 98 x 72.5 cm.

This is a very detailed sculpture of a deity standing on top of an elephant who stands on a ball. This is a very unique sculpture in excellent condition. Notice the impressive details all over this piece, including the feet, the design on the deity's dress and the details of the pearls. Also take note of the carving of the wood on the bottom of the piece. Such a great find! This piece measures 10 x 6 x 4.

Additional photos of this fabulous Accordion book of 12 paintings by Kimura Seiun enclosed in a wooden box titled Atami Dan Ko-gasatsu and dated early Spring of Showa 4 (1929). The introductory page is written by Zen priest Hashimoto Dokuzan of Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto. The paintings are each signed with various names used by Kimura, mostly Seiun or Ren. The introductory and concluding pages are both dated 1929. It is 28 x 14 cm (5-1/2 x 11 inches) and in overall outstanding condition.

This is a pale blue Ando Jubei box depicting a shrine among pine trees, the design flowing down the front side of the piece. Enameled in both standard silver wire and wireless technique and measuring 5.25" x 4", the box is brocade lined and is marked junjin on the inner rim.

Condition: Minor wear to the bottom, and hairlines to the sides of the top as illustrated in the final two photographs.

Katsuhira Tokushi was a true folk artist, as he grew up in rural Akita Prefecture without encountering other artists and their work.
