Ancient Chinese green Jade crouching figure pendant. The figure has Hongshan features, the back end has a dragon face. The bottom note the iridescent deposit in the center . The sharp angled conically drilled holes for the cord and shows cord wear from extended use. Great pendant with no modern tool marks, this came from a collection collected in Hong Kong 1980s-1995 . The collection was extensive with mostly ancient jade pieces . Size just over 1.5" by 1.25"

A nice Art Deco cocktail pick set formed as a dark red bakelite cherry atop a rosewood base holding six bright red bakelite cherry-finial picks. The cocktail pick holder (“porte-piques”) was once a fixture of every French bar or café, as well as private bars in the home. Today, they can be used for their original purpose or to serve small hors d’oeuvres.
Clearly this a very early ghurra showing greatly achieved carving art combined with thick crusted patina and significant signs of wear. The sculpture motifs represent on both side of the ghurra a scene of churning, supported by an interlacing which could represent snakes which it is however difficult to formally identify as the deposit is important and hides the details. The green glaze used for oribe is thought be difficult to produce and only the most skilled potters can produce the green color by knowing the temperature and timing when fired.
